This week's P5s Rankings update features Chris moorman1 Moorman (pictured) of the United Kingdom, who regains his worldwide #1 ranking following a lengthy reign by Alex AJKHoosier1 Kamberis. Chris has maintained his consistent online poker results in the month of January despite traveling to major live events and placed 2nd in the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Mulligan for $33,900 over the weekend. He also has a 3rd place showing in the PokerStars $100 rebuy from one week ago for another $15,000. The largest online tournament cash for Chris in the last 12 months is his $50,000 score in the Titan Poker ECOOP III Event #8 from December. Chris is up one spot this week to top the worldwide rankings and appears poised to do battle with Hungary's breeth for the overall #1 ranking in upcoming weeks.
In an exclusive interview with PocketFives staff on Thursday morning, moorman1 was asked how it felt to be back on top of the worldwide online poker tournament rankings. "It feels good for sure. After AJKHoosier1 hit his big WCOOP Main Event score, he had a monster lead in the PocketFives Sliding PLB. I didn't think [reclaiming the #1 ranking] would be attainable for the foreseeable future. I guess Alex took some time off though after his big win and I was fortunate enough to hit some big scores in the past few months. I'm sure Alex will be determined to get his spot back though so it should be an interesting few weeks," Chris said. He went on to add, "If Alex starts putting in volume again he'll be the number one threat. Steve gboro780 Gross is one of the most underrated players out there and he just generally owns me every time we play. If breeth wins the Sunday Million again, his Pro Poll might finally move up a couple of spots."
Joe ender555 Ebanks (pictured) climbs three spots to #12 this week after taking down the UltimateBet $500+30 weekly Sunday tournament for just over $38,000. He won the PokerStars $50k Guaranteed on Tuesday for another $14,200. D1rtyR1v3r moves up four to #15, while charder advances 13 to #32 worldwide on the strength of his runner-up performance in the PokerStars "Sunday 500." Christian collected $72k for that feat and could be on his way to a spot in the top 20 in upcoming weeks. David Bakes Baker continues his rise through the rankings by jumping seven spots to #35 as Stian JohnnyBelow Stabell of Norway is up 14 to #47 after winning the PokerStars Wednesday Quarter Million a week ago for $55,555. Stian has recorded three subsequent five-figure online tournament cashes in the last five days. JoeBlazenyc manages a ten-spot climb to #48 this week, _cwp394_ is now ranked #55 in the world, and intervention is up 14 to #56 following his Stars $200 Sunday rebuy win.
Dan Wretchy Martin (pictured) of Oregon finished 3rd in the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan for $26k on January 18th, and is up 14 to #60 worldwide. Since then, Dan has reached nine online tournament final tables; earning over $50,000 in final table prizes over the last ten days. Jeremiah Believer82 Vinsant is now ranked #67 in the world; up 16 from last week and Brent bhanks11 Hanks currently owns the #82 overall ranking. Jon PearlJammer Turner returns to the rankings this week at #83, JohnnyGstaks re-enters at #90, and Patrolman35 holds the #91 ranking. Also new to the rankings this week are jet5087 at #95, xxjondxx at #96, and JasonGray at #100 worldwide.
