This week's Online Poker Rankings
update features a group of superstar online poker tournament players who have recently made headlines as they move up the ladder in the worldwide rankings. Ninth-ranked Ryan gutshtallin Welch (pictured) who is currently competing in the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP), has a recent victory in the PokerStars $100 rebuy for $34,300 along with three online tournament final tables so far in June. Sweden's mendieta19 has moved up one spot to #4 and Jeremiah Believer82 Vinsant (also from the state of Tennessee) climbs three to #8 worldwide on the heels of his win in the Stars "Sunday 500" over the weekend for $87,400. PocketFiver j.thaddeus ascends four spots to #15 and Matt _cwp394_ Ross has received a six-spot rankings boost thanks to his first place finish in the Stars $1k Super Tuesday a week ago for $59,000. Kevin ImaLuckSac MacPhee is up seven to #17 and Canada's Matt ch0ppy Kay also rises seven spots this week to #18 in the world at online tournament play following his victory earlier this month in the Stars Wednesday Quarter Million for $48,300.
Casey bigdogpckt5s Jarzabek is now ranked #35 in the world at online poker tournament play, gregior is up six to #37, and recent Triple Crown winner Ben NeverScaredB Wilinofsky (pictured) leaps 13 spots all the way up to #39 as a result of his recent performance in online tournaments. PreshaDrop is up eight to #40, Nick agriffrod Mitchell improves six to #49, and Faraz The-Toilet Jaka continues his climb up the rankings by advancing 11 spots to #56. Former top-ranked player JohnnyBax has surged recently; up 15 to #61, as 2007 UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic Champion Travis TravestyFund Rice continues to climb after his Full Tilt Poker FTOPS victory a month ago for $460,000. New to the rankings this week are Grayson the_dean22 Nichols (#87), James Andy McLEOD Obst (#92), ronaldgrauer (#97), judos1017 (#98), and scarface_79 (#100).
