Rankings Update: ocrowe on Fire!

By Adam | Published Apr 26 2007, 01:19 AM

Owen "ocrowe" Crowe had a big week last week, and he's climbed back up into the top 30 in the rankings.  Among other things, he final tabled the UB $500, took 2nd in a Full Tilt $150, and won a $22 rebuy and a $100 on PokerStars.  He also cashed in 3 different Sunday events.

Hoodini10, mentioned in the article below for his win in the Sunday Warm Up, also made a significant upward move, landing at number 20.

Moving up quickly in the 30-40 range were two names that most are familiar with--RandALLin and M8kingmoves.  M8kingmoves jumped 6 spots to number 33 after a week that included numerous final tables, which was detailed in this week's podcast.  RandALLin had several final tables as well, including the PokerStars $300.  His top score of the week was a 3rd in the $100 rebuy.  He moved up 9 spots to number 36.

The next big movers were gator93 and pbdrunks.  Gator93 moved back up 6 spots to number 44 after a week that included two five-figure scores.  He took 2nd in a $100 rebuy for over $15k and won a Full Tilt $150 for over $14k.  He also took down a $69+6 tourney on Full Tilt and final tabled the UB $500.  Pbdrunks has been on fire in the Sunday majors of late, including two final tables in the Sunday Million.  This past week, he final tabled another major, the UB $200k Guaranteed.  He finished this week at number 50 in the rankings.

Speaking of big weeks, we wouldn't be doing this update justice if we didn't mention mattster24, who moved up 11 spots to number 53.  Mattster nearly final tabled the $200 rebuy on Stars and the UB $500, but the real accomplishment was winning 3 other big tournaments throughout the week.  He took down the Full Tilt $150 on Monday for $15k, the Stars $20 rebuy on Tuesday for $12k, and the Sunday $100 rebuy on Stars for over $32k.  Congrats to mattster24 on a truly fantastic week.

The_dean22 has been racking up final tables in April, including a couple wins early in the month.  On Sunday, he finished 3rd for over $15k in the $100 rebuy on Stars, and it helped elevate his ranking up to number 76, passing 12 players along the way.

Five new players were ranked this week, including DumpingKGB, who's been on absolute fire all through the month of April.  Ch0ppy entered the rankings at number 88, fresh off of joining the site.  His results speak for themselves--few players can boast they've won the Sunday Million to begin with, but this past weekend, he final tabled it again and also final tabled the Party $300k Guaranteed.

Titantom32 (94th), GBecks (95th), and TheDreamer (97th) are the last three to get in this week.  Titantom32took down a Full Tilt $150 on Wednesday and had two other sizable final tables in the week.  GBecks recently won the triple cand he followed it up by taking 2nd in a $20 rebuy and winning a $69 tourney, both on Full Tilt.  TheDreamer has had several big wins lately, including taking down the Full Tilt Monday $1k event and the UB $600.  This past week, his top score was a 3rd in a $100 rebuy on Stars, but it looks like he'll be moving up more next week, as he's already won another $100 rebuy this week for over $22k.

About Adam

I was one of the original P5ers... Before this site existed, my friends Cal, Riley, and I were poker enthusiasts/railbirds who played primarily low stakes cash games and tournaments. We were all fresh off graduating from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, loved poker, and wanted to become a part of the poker world. For years I managed the rankings system on this site and all of the content you would see on the front page. I now am mostly removed from the day-to-day operations of the site and am primarily focused on our company's rakeback business (including the rakeback section of PocketFives). I still take a very active interest in the site, and you'll often see me responding to threads in the forums on topics ranging from how to play AK out of position to what I think is the next legislative step regarding online poker in the US. I live in Escazu, Costa Rica about 5 minutes from our company's office. I primarily play live poker now, but you can still occasionally find me at the online tables, primarily as cassowv on Full Tilt or AdamP5s on Bodog. If you see me around the forums or at the tables, be sure to say hi and tell me how I played my hand wrong ;)
