This week's P5's Rankings update features a new arrival in the Top 10 worldwide rankings, as Phillip USCphildo Collins continues his amazing climb to the top. Unranked at the beginning of 2008, Phil has had victories in the PokerStars Sunday Second Chance and Full Tilt Poker $1k Monday tournaments for a combined total of $118k, along with a 2nd place finish in another Full Tilt $1k Monday on May 19th for $58,700. Phillip, who is up one spot to #10 this week, has also caught the attention of the European marketplace recently, and will be the featured online player in the June edition of Poker Pro Magazine.
Daniel "djk123" Kelly has moved into position to compete for the #1 worldwide ranking by moving up two spots to #2 in the world at online tournament play. Earlier this week, Daniel final tabled the Full Tilt $65k Guaranteed and the PokerStars $100 rebuy for over $21,000 combined. However, it appears that he may have to wrestle the #1 Pro Poll spot away from Isaac "mr. menlo" Baron before taking over the #1 overall ranking from Chad "M8kingmoves" Batista.
There were four players who made significant jumps in the top 20 this week. Evan "PURPLEPILS99" Parkes of Canada is up three to #13, and could be headed for a top 10 appearance following his $112,000 cash in the FTOPS VIII on May 15th. Luke "IWEARGOGGLES" Staudenmaier is up two to #15 after finishing 2nd in the Full Tilt $20k Guaranteed a few days ago. "Busto_soon" of The Netherlands is up two to #17 following his outright victory in the Full Tilt $90k Guaranteed for $36,000 on May 17th, and last week's P5's Podcast guest, Taylor "ElMastermind" McFarland moved up two spots to #18.
Andy "BkiCe" Seth is up eight spots to #26 this week following his victory in the PokerStars $100 rebuy earlier this month. "CrazyZachary" moves up seven to #33, and "CapTinBisKuiT" is up five to #34. Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin is now ranked #35 in the world, and Felipe "improved" Montenegro of Costa Rica is up five to #36. "THEDONATOR" moves up 11 to #37 following his win in the PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand in early May. Ray "Exitonly" Coburn is up nine to #42 on the heels of his May 16th win in the PokerStars $100 rebuy. "ImaLuckSac" moves up six to #44.
After winning a boatload of cash in late April, "Akat11" has begun to climb steadily up the rankings ladder; ending this week up ten to #60. Over the course of one week, he won the PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand, the $100 rebuy, and the Full Tilt $65k Guaranteed tournaments for a combined total of nearly $73,000. Travis "TravestyFund" Rice, winner of the 2007 UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic for $800k, continues to show that he's one of today's top online tournament players as well. Travis is up 12 to #62. "FishOnTilt" is an up and coming online tournament player who has found a home in to worldwide rankings; moving up 22 to #63. "Thecronic420" is enjoying the benefit of a his April '08 results; moving up 10 to #66 following his three online tournament wins for $40k.
New to the rankings this week are "jpeahs" at #77, "MrCasino" at #79, Australia's "Kochan" at #86, "4ofakindbud" at #92, "Pokersavage1" at #93, and "The-Toilet" at #97.
