PocketFives.com members had a tremendous weekend in major tournaments led by Amit amak316 Makhija (pictured), who won the Full Tilt Poker FTOPS $5,000+200 Event #22 on Sunday for $550,000. Moments after his victory, Amit talked with PocketFives.com about his FTOPS win. "This victory is amazing for me because I think everyone would agree that this tournament had one of the toughest lineups ever assembled. I have made a ton of major final tables this year; always falling short of the title (second in WPT Legends of Poker and 5th in $10k WSOP Pot limit Hold'em event). I feel like this win gets that monkey off my back." Fellow member decay took 2nd in that same tournament for $362,500 followed by PureCash25, who earned $262,500 for 3rd place. Evan PURPLEPILS99 Parkes finished 5th for $137,500. Wisdom[9] won $132k for 2nd place in the PokerStars Sunday Million on Sunday as veteran poster Jim Mr_BigQueso Collopy took home $56,800 for his 5th place effort. Ryan toetagu Fair won the Stars "Sunday 500" tournament for $97k; defeating Pist0nH0nda, who received $70,500, heads-up. Mojave14 won nearly $54k for 3rd, Telefonkiosk won $40k for 4th, and Shiptothesails was awarded $28,300 for 5th place. QuasiFiction rounded out the final table in 9th for $7,500.
EddyTown took home $103,200 for his 5th place outing in the FTOPS Main Event on Sunday as he outlasted a competitive field of over 5,200 entrants. PocketFiver -BlackFours- won $70k for 2nd place in the Stars Sunday Warm-Up with aty79 taking home $39k for 4th place. Lee Bill Ivey Gaines won close to $10k for 9th place in that tournament. TheBeing won $56k upon taking down the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan as DFish cashed for $16k in 5th place. Craig MrCasino Gray won $7,600 for 7th place. Fisheater111 took home $53,500 for his win in the Stars Sunday Second Chance. Bonds252525 placed 5th for $15,600 and wmmcl finished 7th for $9,650.
Jon apestyles Van Fleet (pictured) won the Absolute Poker Weekly $150k Guaranteed on Saturday for $37,500. SirWatts continued his hot streak by placing 2nd in that tournament for $24k and 4Lisa earned $16,650 for his 3rd place performance. The UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed was won by Hagbard Celine, who took home $45,000 for the win. ErikTheKing7 won $13k upon finishing 4th and yaboystu walked away with $11k after being eliminated in 5th place. THEDONATOR won $7,000 for 7th and johne147 took home $2,000 for 10th place. Matt ch0ppy Kay of Canada rounded out the final table in 9th for $2,550. RockogRul received $4,500 for 6th in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed. There were no PocketFivers at the final tables of the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed, the Titan Poker $250k Guaranteed, or the DoylesRoom $175k Guaranteed.
PocketFiver sprstoner won his second Full Tilt Poker $150 Sunday rebuy in as many months; earning $67,800 this time after cashing for $58,400 back in October. There were seven P5'ers at the final table of the Stars $200 Sunday rebuy led by theNorfman, who took home $33,100 after finishing runner-up. Chicagocards1 has been on fire in recent weeks and added another $24,700 to his '08 online poker tournament results after being eliminated in 3rd place. Phil USCphildo Collins collected $18,850 for 4th, Annette_15 took home $12,900 for 5th, and parttimepoker earned over $10k for 6th place. McNallyville won $5,600 for 8th and THAY3R rounded out the final table in 9th for close to $4,000. IWEARGOGGLES took home $20,300 for his 6th place effort in the FTOPS Knockout Event #24.
