members were victorious in four major tournaments for the first part of
this week, which was kicked off with the Full Tilt Poker $1k
Monday, which paid out just over $350,000 in prizes. Twenty-first ranked player TravestyFund
finished runner-up in this tournament for $56.1k, just less than two
weeks after he took down the $40k Guarantee rebuy tournament on the
same site for $13.9k. Nick fu_15 Maimone (pictured) had an impressive night, beginning with a 3rd place finish in this event for $42.1k. Shyam s_dot111 Srinivasan earned $32.4k for taking 4th, DevilTruck placed 8th for $8.7k and Stamdogg took 9th for just over $7k.
Monday's $100 rebuy tournament on PokerStars saw six P5s members at its final table this week. Previously mentioned fu_15 began his run Monday with a victory in this event, pocketing $19.9k for his win. Mohsin chicagocards1 Charania walked away with $14.2k for finishing runner-up to Maimone. Dante DCJ311 Jones,
who recently had a 3rd place finish in Sunday's $215 rebuy tournament on
Pokerstars for $37.4k, added another $8k and change to his spreadsheets
for a 4th place finish. Thirty-third ranked player and Triple Crown winner the_dean22 took 6th for $4.6k, followed by CWaZy MonTer in 8th for $2.7k and dabears87 in 9th for $1.8k.
Three P5ers were seen deep in Monday's Nightly $100k Guarantee
tournament. Dave geeforce1 Gent
of the United Kingdom, who recently broke into the Top 100 rankings at
#99, outlasted 887 other entrants to win this tournament outright and
certainly a chance to move up in rank here at PocketFives.com. Steve OklaState21 of Michigan placed 6th for $5.5k and Octavian_C took 9th for $1.7k.
The
Super Tuesday on PokerStars had 317 entrants this week. Two
Pocketfives.com members reached this week's final table, which was eventually won by Sam
KingKobeMVP Stein, who took home the $64.8k top prize. In March '09, Stein also won the Sunday 500 on PokerStars for $91.2k. Christian
charder Harder
(left) was also seen at this week's final table, placing 5th for
$18.3k. Harder is current ranked #66 in online tournament player.
Six P5ers packed the final table of Tuesday's Nightly $100k Guarantee tournament, led by Indiana player THE UTE,
who had a runner-up performance for just over $16k. Just earlier this
month, this player took down the $75k Guarantee on Full Tilt Poker for
$27.1k. Brazil's Allingomes earned $11.9k for taking 3rd, followed by Stamdogg in 4th for $8.9k and goleafsgoeh in 5th for $6.2k. Dany1984 and tsifknits also had a final table appearance, taking 7th and 8th respectively. Tuesday's $100 rebuy had 235 entrants this week, led by Paul paulgees81 Volpe, who was victorious in this event and walked away with the $19.2k top prize. Chris sooooted Vaughn of Georgia took 5th for $5.3k and SergioPenha placed 8th for $2.6k.
The
$100k Guaranteed on Full Tilt Poker had 316 entrants this week and paid out over $120,000 in prizes. This is
a $100 rebuy 6-max tournament, usually attracting some of the top
tournament professionals and known to be one of the toughest weekly
tournaments. Two P5s members made the final six this week, led by Thayer THAY3R Rasmussen
(left), who finished runner-up for $18.8k. Earlier this month,
Rasmussen placed 3rd in FTOPS Event #3 for $36.4k. He is currently
ranked #52 in the world for online tournament play. Taking 4th in this
week's rebuy event was cdbr3799 of Wesley Chapel, FL who earned $9.9k for his finish.
The Quarter Million on PokerStars had 800 entrants this week and PocketFives.com member Robert TC_Clueless Boyd earned $33.7k after he was eliminated in 2nd place by 2003 WSOP Main Event Champion Chris Moneymaker. Denmark's mrvogt walked away with $25k for placing 3rd, followed by rainmanusc in 5th for $13.1k, vadka in 6th for $10.6k and JohnnyBax was eliminated in 7th for just over $8k.
Wednesday's $100 rebuy tournament on PokerStars had 4 P5s members at its final table, led by Canadian player Derek Derek8 Lerner,
who finished runner-up for $14.4k. Earlier this month, Lerner had a 3rd
place finish in the $100 rebuy tournament on Full Tilt Poker for
$25.4k. Fiftieth ranked player BreakRibs of Illinois earned $5.6k for taking 5th in this week's rebuy event. SirWatts placed 6th for $4.3k and McNallyville earned $2.4k for 8th.
UB.com is the host for two large tournaments on Wednesday. The Sniper 80k Guarantee tournament
had 399 entrants this week. PocketFiver Michael rock3656 Rocco
(right), who is currently ranked #6 in the world in tournament play,
earned $12k after placing runner-up. Less than one month ago, Rocco
captured a victory in the Full Tilt Poker $1k Monday for just over
$90k. Twenty-seventh ranked player Casey bigdogpckt5s Jarzabek took 4th in this week's Sniper tournament for $5.6k, followed by AreTheseUt in 8th for $2.4k and bobspirit in 9th for $1.6k.
Seven P5ers reached the final table of the $150k Guaranteed
tournament, which is a $1,000+50 buy-in event. This week 134 players
entered this tournament and when play reached heads-up, Sweden's Kentykent and Canada's jadedjason decided to take an even chop and call it a night. Both players received $31.8k for their finish. Taking 4th this week was princessdonk of Las Vegas who walked away with $14.2k, followed by AreTheseUtz in 5th for $10.8k. Other notable final table mentions include SirWatts, JohnnyBax and dochacha.
