What’s Your Fortune?

By Dan | Published Sep 17 2008, 12:52 PM

I’ve written about a lot of promotions that we’ve run on PocketFives.com and the one I’m about to tell you about is one of the coolest that I’ve ever seen. PocketFives is running a special promotion with Fortune Poker. The winner travels around the world – literally – to compete in five of the largest and most prestigious land-based tournaments. You’ll head to the Caribbean, Scandinavia, United States, Italy, and Macau to test your poker skills against some of the best players that the world has to offer. The best part is that we’re giving you the chance to travel around the world for free. It’s all from PocketFives.com and Fortune Poker.

All you have to do is sign up with Fortune Poker by clicking here and creating an account (note that Fortune Poker does not accept U.S. players for real money or play money). We’ll have three freerolls for members of PocketFives who use our links to sign up. Here is the freeroll schedule along with the corresponding password for each tournament:

Wednesday, October 8th at 19:00 GMT

Password: P5OCT

Wednesday, November 5th at 19:00 GMT
Password: P5NOV

Wednesday, December 3rd at 19:00 GMT
Password: P5DEC

The top three finishers in each freeroll will advance to the Around the World Finale, which takes place on December 7th at 19:30 GMT. It has a buy-in of €250 (and satellites are available), but nine lucky PocketFivers won’t have to pay a dime. The winner of the Around the World Finale will be bought into five of the richest poker tournaments on the planet:

1. The Canadian Poker Tour Dominican Republic event. The tournament has a buy-in of €4,000 and all of your travel and accommodations will be paid for in full.

2. The European Poker Tour Scandinavian Open in February, 2009. This tournament has a buy-in of €7,000 and takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

3. The World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament. In this event, a bounty is placed on pro’s head. The March tournament has a buy-in of €6,000.

4. The European Poker Tour San Remo event in April, 2009. This tournament has a buy-in of €5,250 and gives you a high-stakes Italian poker experience.

5. The Asian Poker Tour Macau event. This year, the APT Macau tournament featured Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan. It has a buy-in of €3,300 and will occur during the fall of 2009.

Second through tenth places in the Around the World Finale will also take home prizes:

Second Place: WPT Bay 101 buy-in with travel and accommodations plus a Fortune Poker $250K Guaranteed buy-in

Third Place: EPT Scandinavian Poker Open buy-in with travel and accommodations plus a Fortune Poker $250K Guaranteed buy-in

Fourth Place: APT Macau buy-in with travel and accommodations plus a Fortune Poker $250K Guaranteed buy-in

Fifth Place: EPT San Remo buy-in with travel and accommodations plus a Fortune Poker $250K Guaranteed buy-in

Sixth through Tenth Places: Fortune Poker $250K Guaranteed buy-in

Customer support is one area that Fortune Poker is constantly focusing on. Its phone numbers are clearly given on its website and the online poker room's Marketing Manager told PocketFives.com, “At Fortune Poker, we pride ourselves on giving the best possible personal service to our players. The Management team is readily available to assist players to the fullest degree, regardless of your concern.” The site is gearing up to hold a $100,000 freeroll next month.

If you’d like to try out Fortune Poker, you can take advantage of a 200% deposit bonus up to $1,000. For the Around the World Finale promotion, no deposit is necessary, but you must sign up through our links to be eligible. Click here to sign up.

Good luck to all PocketFivers who will battle for a chance to travel the world, playing in high-stakes tournaments. Visit Fortune Poker today.
