I have not upated my blog in awhile. I have been mostly grinding $26 45 mans since getting to #2 on the Sharkscope leaderboard at the $10 level.

Below are my $26 45 man stats for this challenge. I am happy to be doing fairly well in them.

I was hoping to be able to play more mtts than I have for this challenge but my private life does not allow me to put in 8 hours mtt sessions. I can put in 3-4 hours at night but that is about it. I have noticed the 1000 cap mtts on Poker Stars and think I may start playing more of those.

Friday night I though I would take a shot at some mtts. I opened up 4 mtts on Full Tilt and 4 on Poker Stars. My goal was to get in mtts that would finish around 3am in case I ran deep. I busted in all my tourneys and was running pretty deep in the $33 $15K Guaranteed on Poker Stars. I played my game. I played very tight and maximized my big hands. I took not of the players that were playing too many hands and occasionally 3-bet them. I got to the final table 9 of 9. It was cool to be at a final table but going to bed past 4am to win $387 did not seem very cool. I always had around 15-20 blinds so I was not super desperate. I remember shoving AJ a couple of times and won a 77 vs A10 flip to double my stack to $220k. We got down to 7 players. I then picked up KK and raised preflop to $30k. One person flatted me and another squeezed to $85K. I shoved to $220K and got called by 44. That hand itself put me in the lead.

I was willing to chop 4 handed for about $3K but one guy didn't want any part of chopping. I ended up getting HU with him and beating him for $4462. That was a big boost to my bankroll and makes getting to $10k a lot more attainable.

I have taken a few days off of playing after the win. I always like to take time off after a big win. I assume I just like the feeling to sink in for a couple of days before the beats start happening again.

Hello Everyone,

My bankroll is now up to $1759.03. I haven't hardly been playing any mtt's so i have only slowly been increasing the bankroll playing 45 man SNG's.

I have mainly been playing $10 45 man's on Full Tilt because I was so close to breaking into the Leaderboard. I finally have my first star. I am 3rd place in average profit for tourneys 4-6 tables over the last 500 games. I am shooting for #1 but am happy with this so far.

I thought I would layout detailed stats over my 500 games in the $10 45 mans.

It was a pretty good run. I am going to start playing the $26 level again and hopefully will have good success.

I am waiting for variance to kick in but so far it does't seem to want to. I am playing very well, picking good spots and having my cards hold up.

Mixed Games and Badugi

I have started playing more mixed games and so far it has been a lot of fun and has been increasing my bankroll and breaking the monotony of just playing holdem. I got 5th in a $5 PLO MTT against 238 people for $80. I got 2nd in an 8 person $5 Badugi tourney on Poker Stars. I have also played a couple of mtt horse tourneys but haven't quite cashed in them as of yet.

45 man games still rocking

My bread and butter of making money is still the 45 man tourneys. I have been crushing them and hope to continue more of the same. Below are my full stats from the $10 45 man tourneys.

Once I reach 500 games in these $10 45 man tourneys I should finally get a star next to my name and get on the leaderboard for 2nd or 3rd for most average profit in 6 table tourneys on sharkscope over last 500 games. 1st place currently has a $7.33 average win rate and 2nd place has $6.99 average win rate. I am currently at $7.05 average win per tourney through 445 tourneys.

Coaching Zekenasty

My new Student goes by Zekenasty on Full Tilt and melano on p5's. He is already a proven player and has won thousands of dollars online. During the month of October he is in a $10 45 man competition and says he is going to play at least 1000 of them during that time period. This is how the competition works. Every contestant pays their entrance fee and then 60% for most profit, 30% for best ROI and 10% for most volume. I know there are guys in the competetion that will play 3-4K tourneys in one month so we are definitely shooting for best ROI.

If this month goes well for Zekenasty I am definitely going to be setting more time aside for coaching players who can put in serious volume. If you are good enough to learn and have time to play I would be happy to discuss staking/coaching scenario for you.

Blog 6 at $1226.45, 45 man Full Tilt domination Win-Patricii's $500 to $10,000 Bankroll Challenge/Blog/Stake

The bankroll is steadily increasing. We are at $1226.45 by merely grinding $10 45 mans with some other random tourneys thrown in.

I want to eventually be good at all poker games so I have been throwing in some PLO, RAZZ and Stud to the equation. I played my first Stud tourney last night and I thought I got they hang of it pretty well. I didn't cash but I was somewhat close.

It is nice having all the information about the other persons cards in RAZZ and Stud.

I have picked up a couple of new students that I am teaching the nuances of 45 man tourneys on Full Tilt. It seems that most players even if they are good take the wrong approach to these tourneys. If you are interested in me coaching you in 45 man tourneys and you are able to put in good volume let me know.

Once of my new students is already a great player and he is playing a 45 man competition during the entire month of August. He expects to play about 1000 of them in one month time. Now that is volume. I wish him the best.

$5 for your Bad Beats

Over the last two weeks people have been sending me so many bad beats on skype that I am actually pretty tired of it. When you open me up on Skype now it says that you must ship me $5 on Poker Stars or Full Tilt any time you feel you need to send me a bad beat.

I cash in about 25% of all 45 man tourneys that I play. This means that 3/4 of the tourneys I am going busto. This usually means that I got sucked out or lost KK vs AA. Get over it. Stop crying and letting it affect your game. This is going to happen and continue to happen almost every night.

Instead of sending bad beats I am now sending great hands that I played over to my poker friends on skype. I think this brings everyone's spirits up and maybe even teaches them a new move or two. I urge you to try it. I always cringe when someone sends me a bad beat hand because it does nobody any good. I loved to be pleasantly surprised with a winning hand that gets sent to me every once in awhile.

Blog 5 at $1060.05, RAZZ MTT Win-Patricii's $500 to $10,000 Bankroll Challenge/Blog/Stake

I'm back with a quick blog. I have been throwing in some PLO to get some experience playing other games besides Holdem. I have heard that there is money to be made in other games so I am trying to get my feet wet.

Last night I saw a $5 RAZZ MTT and joined the tourney. There were 106 people so not a huge field. I ended up winning the Tourney for $166. It felt pretty good considering I don't have a lot of RAZZ experience. I tried using my current poker skills that I have learned in other games to help me. I tried to use position but mainly using the cards of my opponents to put them on a hand and bet them out. I suppose I must have ran pretty well also.

I moved up to the $26 45 man level but lost both of the tourneys I played. I am starting to think if I have a better ROI playing $10 45 mans if it is even really worth it to play the $26 45 mans. For some reason I do better at the $10 and $75 level. I have a +ROI at the $26 level but not enough to where it makes sense to play at that level instead of the $10 level.

Ok. I will play 3 $10 45 mans for every $26 45 man and see if I can start picking up some scores there. If my results stay the same I may cut them out all together.

We are about 1/10 of the way to the $10K goal. I will keep you all posted and hopefully be able to celebrate a $1K+ score soon.

Day 1 at $589.37 with deep run in Mini Ftops #1 32nd/16750-Patricii's $500 to $10,000 Bankroll Challenge/Blog/Stake

Hello Everyone,

We had a pretty good day 1 of my challenge. The bankroll currently stands at $589.37.

I played a few $10 45 man sessions. 4 tables each session. My standard way of playing 45 man tournies is ultra tight until I get a premium hand. I then try and extract as many chips as possible. It is very important for me to play my big hands big so I can build up a stack to get to the final table. This Strategy has worked very well for me at the $10, $26 and $75 45 man level. I ran somewhat deep in the first 4 tournies but couldn't win the big hand.

I then decided to play my 2nd session very differently than the first to prepare me for playing the Mini FTOPS event #1. I played many more hands in position in order to pick up chips. I stole more blinds and 3 bet much more than normal. I really enjoyed taking over the table. I ended up getting 1st, 4th, 4th and 12th in the 2nd session. At one point I was at 3 final tables with 29K, 19k and 12K which are prettty nice stacks in the 45 man tourneys on Full Tilt. Unfortunately I didn't win more money but overall was very happy with my play and it was nice to be up for the day.

I played session 3 during my Mini Ftops event and never really was able to get anything going.

Deep Run in Mini Ftops Event #1- 32nd/16750 for $592.95

At www.istakeu.com we are running a team stake for all of the Mini Ftops events. I believe we have 13 different players playing all the different events and then we will all divide the money up at the end of the series.

It is a really great idea and have to hand it to Muck_it_fish001 for coming up with it and organizing it.

We had 6 players play this tourney for Team Istakeu. We had 3 or 4 other players playing this tourney on their other stakes. We all chipped in $5 each for a last longer bet which I ended up winning.

This tourney was by far the largest I had every played. I decided to open my game up and try and steal blinds, pots, 3 bet in position etc in order to build my stack and setup a loose aggressive table image so I could get action when i actually had a hand.

During the tourney one of my Poker friends Attacat sent me the following quote over skype.

I can definitely say I did not fear losing and it felt good.

I started pretty slow just hanging around the starting 5K stack for at least a couple of hours. I doubled my stack by flatting an early postion raiser with KK. I hit a set on the flop and he had KQ and I doubled up. I hung around 10k for a little bit until I got JJ in the BB. The Button open shoves for 10k and then small blind calls his bet for about 10k and I decide that it is now or never to build my stack. KJ7 flop and I had 30k. I then went on a blind stealing spree when the following hand came up.

The table was letting me steal so I knew someone would eventually play back at me. I picked up AK in middle position and made my standard 2.3-2.5 preflop bet. The cutoff clicks on his time button and then of course shoves all in. It was a great show but i wasn't laying down AK there. He turned over K2 and I doubled up again. to about 60K. There were many more fun hands during this tourney. I thought I played great and showed that I too can play more than just a tight aggressive style. I got my stack up to 1.5Million and lost a JJ vs A2 hand which I would like to have back. I ended up blinding down to around 10 big blinds. I shoved on the button with 35 and got called by KQ and was shown the door. What a great run but am yet to take it the full distance. I foresee some big scores happening soon if I keep playing well.

I hope to hit my flush and if not hope that he gets nervous about me having an ace or king. I had already planned to fold to a big turn bet if made and bet the river if he checked the turn. It worked out nice. He had been opening and he really had a wide range of hands here.

Patricii's $500 to $10,000 Bankroll Challenge/Blog/Staking opportunity

Hello Everyone,

My name is Patricii. I have been playing poker since the end of 2004. I started with a deposit of $300 and have never had to deposit again. I have not made the kind of money that the top players have made but have grinded out a profit month after month for quite awhile.

I am shooting to build a $500 bankroll to $10,000 by December 31, 2009.

I have taken Poker seriously and have a library of about 35 Poker Books of which I have ready many of them multiple times to make sure that I really understood the information. I have watched many online training videos of the top online players which I feel has helped my game. I also am a very active member at www.istakeu.com and am constantly discussing hands with some of the players they have. I am one of the top players and investors on the site and have met a lot of great people that have helped me take my game to the next level.

My starting bankroll will be $500. I will take $465 of it and sell 35 $1 shares to stakers at www.istakeu.com. 1 share per person. I hope by doing this many people will get involved and have fun following me reach my goal and watch my ups and downs.

I play mostly on Full Tilt Poker but will start playing tourneys on other sites if I feel they are +EV.

I am a bankroll nit so I have never had to worry about losing my bankroll. My goal is to turn this $500 into $10,000K by the end of 2009. Once I reach my goal of $10K I will start to play more tourneys at the $55, $75, $109, $165, $216 level as long as I feel that they are +EV. I wan't to make sure I take full advantage of my bankroll and not be so much of a bankroll nit like I have been in the past.

I feel I need to take a shot at the bigger buy-ins and see if I can be successful at them. I may find out that I am better suited at the $55 and lower buy-ins but I need to take a shot at it to find out for sure.

Bankroll Guidelines

Sng’s/Mtt’s-Buy-in will never exceed 3% of bankroll. I have the choice to play a satellite within the bankroll requirements to take a shot at a higher buy-in event. If I win the entry then I can play that event or add it to the bankroll.

Cash Games-50 Buy-in rule.

I will be playing any style of poker that I feel fit. I am wanting to learn new games and have already played Holdem, PLO, Omaha 8, and some RAZZ.

Goals for this Bankroll Challenge/Blog/Staking opportunity

-Play more volume
-Play higher buy-ins and learn the adjustments to be a strong player at those levels
-Make this entertaining for the blog followers
-Build bankroll to $10,000
-Learn a lot about myself and my poker game and improve both
