Cream of the Crop - High Stakes Cash Dominance

By Published Apr 12 2007, 01:49 AM

This week's Podcast features interviews with two of the best cash game players in Online Poker history, Brian "aba20/sbrugby" Townsend and Brian "Stinger885" Hastings.

Here at PocketFives.com, we pride ourselves on promoting online poker and the players who participate in our forums.  The PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Rankings have been a staple of our community since the site's inception in early 2005.  At the same time, we recognize and appreciate the individuals (some with unique "skill sets") who comprise the less glorious, yet equally profitable, cash game form of online poker.

Contrary to many tournament specialists, successful online cash game players tend to be more subdued in personality and purposely keep a lower profile in general than their counterparts.  Online tournaments have become big business for successful players in other ways than significant wins or large prize pools; as backing deals and endorsements continue provide extra motivation for players to increase their exposure.

Both "sbrugby" and "Stinger885" noticeably sidestep making any negative comment about their opponents and are gracious of each and every player, regardless of skill level, that make up the limited player pool at high-stakes online poker games.  What our guests may lack in competitive "ribbing" of their opponents, they more than make up for in logic and pleasant responses to the many listener questions this week's Podcast features.

When www.cardrunners.com owner Taylor Caby offered our staff the possibility of having both Brians on one show, we gladly accepted.  It is no secret that online poker training sites have revolutionized the game and made consistent winners out of players who yearned to take that extra step towards improvement.  It is completely reasonable to suggest that an up and coming player would benefit quite a bit from becoming a member at sites like CardRunners simply because the training videos and articles are presented in a practical way that is current and relevant to today's online poker atmosphere.

It is with pleasure that we present one of the most-anticipated Podcasts in the show's one-year history.  Proven winners at the highest stakes online cash games in existence, Brian Townsend and Brian Hastings will give our listeners advice and insights they won't want to miss.
