BeL0WaB0Ve: WPT Bellagio Cup III Champion

By Published Jul 18 2007, 04:14 PM

This week's Podcast features interviews with WPT Bellagio Cup III Champion Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul and Top 40 ranked online tournament player Marco "CrazyMarco" Johnson.

Throughout his online poker career, Kevin Saul has captured the attention of PocketFives.com members and the imagination of tournament players throughout the world.  Known for his aggressive style, "BeL0WaB0Ve" can frequently be seen dominating high buy-in online tournaments across the major sites.  However, live tournament results had been a thorn in Kevin's side since experiencing a shutout in the 2006 WSOP.  Numerous posters made no effort to hide their doubts about Kevin's live game, although long dry streaks are commonplace for any poker player, regardless of expectation.

The critics were silenced this past Sunday, as Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul captured the WPT Bellagio Cup III Championship, and the $1.3 Million prize that comes along with it.  In perhaps the most dominating live tournament performance of 2007, Kevin abused the Final Table bubble to gain a large chip-lead.  The roller-coaster ride at the Final Table forced him to regroup in order to prevail against very stiff competition, including Shane "Shaniac" Schleger and Mike "The Mouth" Matusow.  After the smoke cleared Sunday evening, "BeL0WaB0Ve" was left with one of the most satisfying experiences a poker player can have, and gladly shared it with his friends and family.  This week's interview will focus on that tough final table, along with Kevin's future plans for tournament poker and with the poker training website, www.pokerxfactor.com.

Our second guest seems poised to make a run for the Top 10 at any moment.  Marco "CrazyMarco" Johnson grew up with the nephew of superstar Chip Reese, and learned poker at an early age.  Marco got his start playing Limit Texas Holdem on PartyPoker.com, and eventually made two final tables in their premier major tournaments before going on to dominate tourneys on other sites.  Having turned 21 less than a year ago, it is only a matter of time before Marco reaches the same heights in the live arena that he currently enjoys online.  Marco brings us his thoughts as he takes a break from a round of golf... as he lets Doyle Brunson and Mike Sexton play through while he answers questions for the Podcast.

We would like to give a shout-out to all the PocketFives.com Members who participated in this year's World Series Of Poker.  P5'ers had prize earnings totaling $14.7 Million this year, including 6 WSOP Bracelets and Main Event final table appearances by Hevad "RaiNKhaN" Khan and Lee "acumen53" Childs.
