How do the UIGEA Regulations Affect Online Poker?

By Published Dec 05 2008, 07:43 AM

This week's Podcast features interviews with professor I. Nelson Rose of www.GamblingAndTheLaw.com and Jonathan "therookieqq9" Plens, who won the November Monthly PLB contest here at PocketFives.

Professor Rose was the featured guest in the highest-rated podcast ever back in late 2006 following the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.  Approximately two years later, Professor Rose calls-in to give our listeners a rundown of the UIGEA regulations that were recently passed by Congress and are expected to be enacted in mid January.  What can online poker players anticipate in a month's time?  How will the regulations affect the game of online poker?  Professor Rose answers these questions and more in his interview.

Jonathan "therookieqq9" Plens rose to superstardom in August with his victory in the PartyPoker Birthday Million for over $233,000.  In early November, Jonathan took down the PokerStars Sunday Million for another $189,000.  "Therookieqq9" calls in this week to field questions about his online poker tournament strategy and his chance at reaching a top 10 worldwide rankings soon.
