Have you ever noticed that people who make twice as much money as you do still act like it's barely sufficient? How All-Star ball players aren't happy unless they win it all? Some people just have very high standards and they demand more than the rest of us do. It isn't because they have gotten used to the what they have and need more, it's that they demand more from themselves, and so should you!
I've had students tell me they would be happy making $10 an hour playing poker, and sure enough that's what they ended up making. They should have demanded more. We're in a wonderful time for poker, and it may not last forever. There are people making thousands of dollars a day and you can be one of them if you work hard and demand more from yourself.
Start today. Double your previous poker goals and then double them again. Now start expecting yourself to achieve those things. Even if you fall a little short you will have far surpassed your old goals, and your income will be much higher. All because you set your sights higher. I told myself a long time ago that all the work I put into learning and all the stress of putting my money on the line every day must be worth more. If I knew I was going to make $30,000 this year playing poker I would quit right now and go do something else.
Maybe $30,000 would be great for you this year, maybe $3,000 would even be great, but whatever your goals are set them higher and demand more of yourself. You are worth more, and the money is out there just waiting for you to make it.
I'll see you at the final table,
Fox
I'm awesome. You would like me. Really.
