Pocketfives get together in Atlantic City!!!

By SusieQue

What Happens when you put a bunch of pocketfivers together in Atlantic City?

One Breaks a tooth and has to leave....A 1-2 NL game turns into a 20/40 game of blind madness....The words, "I hit" make you lay your cards down out of fear….You find yourself scoping out fat chicks for a buddy….And small children are not safe on the boardwalk!

Let me explain all of the above.  After everyone arrived in AC, we decided to meet up at the Hooters (where apparently by popular opinion the waitresses do not have big enough hooters to be employed there), and then everyone decided to play the evening tournament at the Tropicana. As I watched everyone drop out one by one, one of them took it upon themself to put all our names on the list for a 1-2 NL game.  Soon enough, all our names got called at once, and they put all of us at a new table opening up, with a few seats open for some unlucky players not in the group.

Looking around this table was like the chesterfield south right out of rounders!  Right away, we knew this was going to be a crazy game. Myself, Big stacks04, Rats00, _yes_, AngryCLEC, Scout0112, WIllisNYC, and Shumonytonite were seated and ready to go.  Now Shumonytonite had already had enough Jack and coke to inebriate a small village, and CLEC was being….well, CLEC!  These two did not notice it was a 1-2 table, and before we knew it, the preflop bets were on average 20 bucks, which is not a big deal, except they were playing BLIND.  Neither of them were looking at their cards!

Meanwhile, the floor man had to come over to tell us to keep it down because, "we were getting a little loud."  After Shu had his aces cracked while playing blind, and clecy said the dreaded words, "I hit," with 69 in the hole no doubt, the floor man came back over and said, "now I am getting people asking to sit here."  At about 3 am, CLEC had managed to lose 1K evenly spread around the table, and we all broke up the game, knowing we all had to be back down here to play the 9 am tourney.

The following morning, we all gathered and met up with Seal and JHRose.  But alas, Shu was nowhere to be found---too hung over to get out of bed, no doubt!   We all took our seats, and the tourney got underway.  Generally the room was pretty quiet until _ yes _ took a bad beat and everyone in the room knew it!  We all dropped out one by one except for JHRose, who managed to make the final table and ended up finishing 4th. With his winnings, he announced that he was buying everyone lunch.  So after a long walk down the boardwalk, we sat for lunch.  Seal broke a tooth on who knows what and was forced to leave to get it fixed before he left on his cruise. And Jhrose had to leave to go and win the $200 Aruba satellite on UB (WTG on your win, cutie).  The rest of us decided to go to the Taj to play a little poker.

Now after a very long day and virtually no sleep the night before we decide to head back to our base casino. Shu still had JD flowing in his veins, so he retired for the evening.  The rest of us were standing there looking at the 3-mile walk back down the boardwalk to our hotel.  Someone got the bright idea to take the rickshaws back.  Well, you know we can’t do anything like normal people.  We are poker players!  So a race broke out.  AngryCLEC and big stacks were in one cart, and Rats, _ yes_, and myself were in the other.  Of course, we offered to tip our guy huge if he won the race for us.  At first it was a nice pace and we were able to help scope out fat chicks for _yes_, who just can’t get enough of the meaty morsels.  So before we knew it, he was aiming at people who were jumping out of the way of our rickshaw.  Small children were being snatched up by their mothers in fear of being run over. By the time we got to the Tropicana, the poor runner needed oxygen. But we WON!

A great time was had by all (except the poor people on the boardwalk that night), and I for one can’t wait till our next little pocketfives outing. Thank all of you guys for another very memorable weekend! And next time we announce one of our trips please feel free to join us. The more pocketfivers the better!
