Hello everyone, my name is Matt, and I am currently 18 and riding the poker wave as best I can. I just recently graduated High School and will be going to college next year. I started like most teenagers playing the small pointless games like "Indianhead" poker and 5 card draw, yet we had no clue about strategies for any of the games we played. When one of our friends tried to introduce Texas Holdem, we blew it off, calling it a stupid game.....little did we know we would be playing it and thinking about it almost as much as we thought about girls.
I started playing play money online around 16 on PokerStars. I took it very seriously and was able to grow my play money bankroll to millions, but I became restless, as it was not a challenge anymore.
Once I was able to access funds to put on the sites, I found my new favorite hobby. I hovered around the 30 dollar sit-n-go's for a while, until I hit my first big cash in a MTT in pot limit Omaha hi/low, a game I had no clue how to really play. Yet somehow I got 2nd and won over 1k, which was HUGE for me at the time.
I have not looked back since then and have been playing bigger and bigger games. I have started to focus mainly on MTTs now, playing sit-n-go's in between the tourneys. My biggest MTT win so far has been at bodog, where I won 25k in their weekly 100k guaranteed tourney.
I am living the life many teenagers dream of. I have no worries about going home early for work, can sleep as late as I want (usually until 1 in the afternoon), and make quite a lot of money for just sitting on my butt. I enjoy all video games, especially halo, and I also like every sport, especially badminton. I can't wait for the future, as my game can only get better, and I hope to share the ups and downs with all of you.
