I'm sure some of you have noticed I haven't been as regular with blogs lately. Others may have noticed that I'm not answering questions as often on the Q&A forums. The simple fact is that I have stretched myself too thin. There have been way too many days lately where I am sitting at the computer working from the time I get up until I go to bed and I have to cut down on my workload so I can find a little time to play and maybe take a periodic break.
Last night I went out for the evening and had a great time for the first time in awhile. I came home at 2 a.m. to find 14 email messages, 7 PM's on pokerfox.net, 3 PM's here on pocketfives, 9 messenger windows open and 4 messages on my phone, all of which were people who wanted my help with their poker game. I also had 4 new comments to deal with on the 100k project, a set of stats to go over with LabRat, and a I have a new full time student starting today. I have no one to blame for this but myself, and of course no one can fix it but me, so I'm setting up some rules for myself to preserve my sanity. Hopefully this will give me a little more time for my blog and some of the other high priority projects.
If you are just someone who enjoys the blog all this means to you is that you'll see better and more frequent entries and you can skip the rest of this blog if you like. For the rest of you, read on.
First of all if you have me on your messenger list you probably won't be able to get ahold me very often unless it's important, and I hope that most of you will understand and respect this. I have 330 people on my list of messenger contacts, and if I analyze a hand history for each of them each day I will have time for nothing else. Believe me I would love to help you, but there are only so many hours in the day and I just can not do it. Try to keep things short if you contact me on messenger and I will do my best to respond.
You may also notice I don't answer my phone very often these days. If you call me and I answer it is because I assume you didn't just call me to tell me how bad you are running today. Tell your dog how bad you're running instead. He just lays around the house all day anyway, and I'm sure he likes the sound of your voice a lot more than I do. It is 2:45 and I have already had 2 "Geez Fox I'm running terrible can you help me with my game?" calls already today. I would love to help everyone and I wish you the very best, but I simply don't have the ability to help you all. Once again it is my fault that I have made myself available to everyone I can because I want to help everybody with their poker problems, but I have gotten in over my head.
I will be posting a link to this blog on my site, so here's some information for all you members. I know you want personal attention, and I know it would help your game. Unfortunately if I answer every question in every PM that I get and break down all the hand histories that I get I don't have time for anything else and the members who are waiting patiently for more videos and articles will never get them. You can all look forward to more articles and videos in the near future and I thank you for your patience recently when things have bogged down.
If you enjoy my blog and want to email me - Feel free to do so, I enjoy hearing from readers, and hearing that my blog does you some good encourages me to write more, but as a favor to me please try to follow a few simple suggestions. Keep your email to less than a thousand words. I would love to know about your whole poker career and how you have been playing the last few years, but I can't read two or three monstrous emails a day. Seriously some of you are writing books to send me and I feel bad if I don't respond and answer as many of your questions as I can.
If you are curious about my site feel free to check out this link - PokerFox.net. I have been getting more and more email from people who want me to give them more information and convince them that my site is a good deal. If you don't think the products offered on that page are a good deal for $50 a year I simply can't help you. Cardrunners, RPT, or propokerschool have much more detailed examples of what you will find inside and they charge enough that it is probably worth it to them to spend a little time convincing you to join up. At $50 a year I'm not going to spend a lot of time convincing you.
I am also no longer accepting new students. I have an intensive student starting today and he will probably be the last one for awhile. I am definitely not accepting new hourly students and I'm hoping to taper off some of the students I have now. If you are a solid experienced teacher I wouldn't mind hearing from you and amybe sending some students your way.
I really hope I don't sound like a jerk here, but I guess at this point it doesn't matter because I have to cut down my workload some whether I sound like a jerk or not. I look forward to having more time to make videos, write blogs, and maybe even play a little poker. Thanks for understanding.
In other news I won an entry to the Saturday 70k guaranteed on Absolute, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a nice overlay. Maybe I'll see some of you on Saturday at 3:30 EST. I'll see you at the final table, Fox
