Well, no such a miracle this time WSOP Doubleshootout on Stars

By the_schmenx | Published Mar 13 2005, 01:44 AM
I tried the doubleshootout on stars for the 1st time and made the Final Table.  My 1st table had no recognizable names and a few players that were a little too agressive.  The key hand was 3 handed where I raised with JJ on the button, the BB went all in right away and I had a decision.  We both had more than 3rd place.  He had done this move a few times already, so, I figured at worst he had overcards or maybe even a smaller pair.  I just didn't think he had me slaughtered.  He had AK and my jacks held up.  When I got heads up, the guy played a bit timid and I was basically able to chip away without much effort.

I was fairly conservative on the final table until the 50-100 level where I raised to 300 with AK in 2nd position (I had about 1800 left) the SB flat called, the BB took a second and then went all in (he covered me).  When it's time to go, it's time to go, and I felt I had at least a 50/50 so I called and he turns over AsQs........flop full o spades and goodbye Eddie.  I lost the Paradise 150 with AK fairly early on, I bet, was raised by the guy on my left immediately, a little quick, and thought what the hell.  He had KK and low and behold, it actually held on Paradise.  I squeaked into the money in the UB40, kinda like saying UB40, reminds me of high school....

When you take a bad beat, you just got to remember the miracles that you have pulled and just let it roll.  Oh yeah, I refuse to say, "that's poker", I'm not a fan of that expression.

I'm trying to decide whether to print what I wrote about my LA problem with this creep, I'm going to give him one more call and from that I'll decide.  The story will explain what the hell I'm talking about, well, if I print it.

Night.
