(Need Advice!) Unique situation. Dowloading poker instructional videos for later viewing.
By pokered on 04-18-2008 10:16 AM

I am currently stationed in Iraq supporting OIF and utilize an Iraqi internet service.  Needless to say my internet connection is extremely unreliable.  Some days it works fine and some-days it is hair pulling slow.  I want to be able to download video files and watch them at a later time.  I can't utilize the "streaming" video options that I normally see offered, due to my poor connection.  I can't even watch podcasts.  But I can download files (even though it takes a while) with the resume feature on my web-browser.  Any advice?  I am an avid poker player and need my poker fix!  I can feel my poker skills/awareness depleting by the second! Help! Thanks!

Sign up with Deuces Cracked. They have a 7 day free trial. It is also to my knowledge the ONLY site where you can download them & watch them later. I know for a fact Stox & CardRunners don't allow that. Give it a try you got nothing to lose. Thanks for your service to our country.

Actually, that's not true for stoxpoker. Subscribing members can download all the videos they want to watch later. They simply have to do it while signed into the site to get the DRM rights downloaded too, and then they can watch the vids offline in Windows media player. If you keep the vids a long time, you have to log back in once in a while to renew the rights, but the not the whole vid. We also have a 7 day money back guarantee so if for some reason you can't get the vids to work for you, you haven't risked a dime.

GL pokered, and stay safe!

Deucescracked would be best for you. Hopefully you are a cash game player. If not, you will probably have all the tools you need to be one after watching the vids. They don't have tournament content (yet).

This statement is incorrect. CardRunners allows the downloads of an unlimited amount of its videos to a member's hard drive. Once downloaded, you will need to "unlock" the videos which requires an internet connection. However, you only need to "unlock" the videos ONCE. Once you've unlocked them with an internet connection, you'll be able to view them on your laptop for 14 days without ANY internet connection. I believe StoxPoker uses similar technology. Ezra
