Only a $3 on Stars with 550 people. We are down to 19 at this point which is about the time I usually take a sick beat. Here it is.

After I was sent to the rail, he says "Sick, you still there." I said "Yes" and he says "Sorry man, I didn't even see that you shoved. I don't even know what to say. I was trying to steal the BB."
Of course I get felted by the guy who wasn't paying attention with a 2-3 offsuit. This is definitely not the worst bad beat I have ever taken, but for sure the weirdest and lamest way I've ever been knocked out of a tournament. I was left staring at the screen wondering what the fuck just happened. I didn't even get mad it was so retarded. Oh, well. On to the next tourney.

First of all congrats on getting that far. That is tough to do. I am curious how much 19th pays in that tourny. I have been is similar situations before where I am short stacked and the chip leader at the table just calls anything, knowing he is probably against 2 unpaired cards- (3-2 underdog). The problem is an ace with an ok kicker only gets called by A-J or better or a pair. I prefer to make the move with 10-J, 8-9, KQ, KJ.

OMG, you're a P5er. WOW. Pay attention next time. Although I really don't mind you doing what you did because obviously I had a great chance to double, just a weird, unlucky hand. How'd you finish by the way?

Thanks jordan. If you look at my profile on www.thepokerdb.com I have a lot of finishes in this range. I can't seem to get over the hump sometimes and into the big $. I need to learn how to accumulate more chips. I agree with you on making the move with mid-suited connectors and such. I believe I got like $9.50 for 19th place which sucks ass for playing for 3 1/2 hours. 1st place was $358 and 4th was I believe $103.

ended up getting 7th i think. i think i could have played slightly better obviously ... i wasn't playing 100% focused. haha, i think it would be wise in the future to not be watching "she's the man" while trying to close a tournament
speaking of which, it was a very strange tournament. i made some of the bigger laydowns of my life especially after two people showed me some ridiculous bluffs. i felt like my timing was so off the whole tournament - really seems incredible that i made it that far...
as far as getting over the hump - well, i'm not sure what you're talking about b/c you seem to close well. i like the shove with A9 in that spot every time with your stack size. people also call with all kinds of garbage that you're ahead of - and some people even shove with garbage that you crush =). haha so well played, just unlucky
