Something has seemed out of whack for a while. I have played well over 1 million hands, but rather than complain about a "feeling", I wanted to look at hard numbers and data. There are many things I could look at to see if different probabilities are out of whack with expectation. The very first thing I decided to look at, using my db with 236,317 tournament hands (a significant sample size), was the distribution of how many times I got dealt pocket pairs, particularlly premium pocket pairs. A pretty simple thing to analyze.
At first, I looked at the breakdown by blind-level and was a bit concerned to find that at level after level, I got dealt fewer AA and KK than any other pocket pairs. For example at the 50/100 blind level, the sample was 73,926, from which I could expect to be dealt a particular pocket pair, like AA, on average apx 336 times. The two that were farthest below expectation were AA (-16) and KK (-21). This repeated at each blind level I looked at.
So next, I aggregated and looked at all 236,317 hands together, regarless of blind level. What I found furthered my concern. Again, the least dealt pocket pair was AA (1010), followed by KK (1040), furthing the suspicion. So I ran some hard statistical analysis on this and found that on average for that sample, there is only a 2.5% chance of being dealt fewer than 1010 AA (and 97.5% chance of being dealt more). Note that this doesnt give any weight to the value of AA vs other lower pairs. The fact that this repeats itself with the other monster pair, KK, is again concerning.
I'll give a quick summary of the mathematical reasoning and tools used for review. If we think of this as a binomial distribution problem, where success (=1) is being dealt an AA, and failure (=0) is not, we know that we have an expected probability of success in a single trial of 1/220, or .00454545..., the odds of being dealt a pocket pair. From my data, we know we had 1010 successes in 236,317 trials. After working the math on my own, I also found a caclulator online you can use by plugging in these variables: http://stattrek.com/Tables/Binomial.aspx You can see the conclusion is that for this sample, we would expect more AAs 97.4% of the time. I would also expect to see KK significantly more than I did. When you look at both together (use values of .009090909090909090909, 2050, and 236,317 in the online calculator), we see my distribution become even more unlikely (98.3%).
What is more concerning yet is that when I look only at the most recent 100,000 hands, the pattern exacerbates itself more dramatically.
Note that if there is rigging that damps the number of premium hands, it would be foolish to damp them to fall much more than 1 or 2 standard deviations away from the norm. So the 98.3% number I see above would be the maximum one could reasonably expect under that scenario. In other words, its the max range that remains "unprovable" due to variance.
More to come.... note that this is the very first thing I have looked at after suspecting suspicious activity. I am starting to look at other aspects that are looking troubling as well, but will post only after I work out numbers. I would like to keep this an ongoing discussion, and invite others to use their db to plug numbers into the calculator I linked to.

... and the graph... pretty sudden change point there. Notice it is not subtle, like levelling out, but very dramatic slope change. The sudden cliff drop was from losing 16 of 17 ($25K) of the $1860 hypers, most again to bad beats, including having KK cracked all 3 times. The latest cliff dip occurred upon starting this thread and contacting stars about it. Note that the slope of the losses would be hard for even a total donkey to replicate for hypers. Mathematcially I would not even have such a steep downslope even if I played with my cards covered up and followed a super simple situational jam/fold chart that assumes you dont see your own cards! By converting chip stack amount numerals to color codes, a monkey could LITERALLY be trained to have a higer expectation than this slope. I am dead serious. Mathematically, over this span of 6000 SNGs, and given my expectation, it is statiscially extremely likely these results are due to active interference.

-$87.72 | So for Nov 15, the final breakdown is: Lost when way ahead or ahead: 10 (Miracle, 3 out, 3 out, 3 out, 3 out, 2 out, etc) Monster in blind (usually with me already holding an A and correctly jamming in late pos): 7 (AJ, AA, AQ, AQ, PP, Ax) Outright beats: 2 (maybe 3)

Honestly sounds like me I almost continuesless get it in good then get smashed by dominated garbage hands. I went though my last 50 pocket pairs and I won about 10. 7 of the 10 being no call preflop like wtf? my pocket pairs never hold up and my overcards never hit. They say you run bad but not for 3 years or so like me. It is bullshit

you need better game selection, and clearly you need to change how you play if u keep losing like this. I used to be a Sitngo grinder, and quit because i couldnt play the game i wanted to play to succeed and the varience was horrendous (hundreds of bad beats). So i switched to cash games and play a very aggresive style. I'm a winning player, and i don't even need premium hands to win.
Open up your game more, possible move down in limits, and play some other game.

A month later, nothing has changed. After playing a MTT and getting in with an Ace six times, having my oppenent dominated all 6 times, and losing all 6 times, 4 of which were to runner runner double gutshot straights, I had a bad feeling. Moving over to the SNGs, here are the results... again, pay attention to my remarks of how the knockout / crippling hand occurred. I lost won just 5 of 44 played today, losing almost entirely to bad beats. There was a stretch of about 15 times in a row where I got in with an A vs. a dominated A, and the dominated A hit the 3 outer or miracle runner runner draws.

God this is sickening. Any chance you can just completely leave Pokerstars for a while? Perhaps if they lose your action during a lengthy hiatus, your results would change upon return? I would send them a note telling them that you are cutting back on Stars as well.

It is rigged a2z1to3 no doubt about it. People that flame about it not being rigged probably have a multiaccounting interest or in some way affiliated with the site. When I get time I will post my 500K + hands and they are not just tourney hands. I see exactly the same crap that happens in tournaments and SNG's as what u have posted. Cash games are just as obvious and its every game. Cannot count how many times in NL how a low pair hits a set 7 out of 10 times against an AA or KK however AA or KK rarely hit their sets. In PLO8 you have the nut low/hi hand only to see the flush card hit the turn and the 2 hit the river to counterfeit. In Razz start out with A235 and all face cards hit while some tard is staying in with a 10 low. On and on and on, etc. I told stars to f off and withdrew all my funds last week. There are 3 trends I have noticed that seems to encourage action:
1) If you are multitabling say over 4 NL tables and are about to end your session, especially if you are up by 50BB. If you unclick the "post blind button" getting ready to sit out and leave the site will deal the premium PP and crack it to some BS ecnouraging u to stay longer and recover your losses.
2) If you are close to a pending bonus. See how many bad beats start to increase especially if the bonus is in the $300-$600 range.
3) IF you are about 500FPP's away from moving up in Star status (silver, gold, platinum, etc.)
Refer to this thread I posted about a week ago..
http://www.pocketfives.com/poker-forums/12/done-with-riggedstars-er-pokerstars-and-probably-on-line-poker-in-general-4917980
These 2 hands happened within 15 minutes of each other exactly the same way to induce action when the bonus was about to be cleared.
The fact that the moderators immediately move these threads over to this forum from the main board and Stars threatens to remove your chat if you talk about it at the table fuels the fire that something is not right behind the scenes.
If Absolute poker and Ultimate poker can have cheating scandals Stars sure as heck can be vulnerable to it too.
I love when I would send an e-mail questioning it they would send an automated reply saying it isnt without any numbers to back it up and no shills, employees, etc. They sponsor pros and how the heck do they know an employee doesnt have a screen name and fires up games after work?
I feel better now but yes it isnt on a level and it has nothing to do with variance or number of hands per hour it is.

Clearly you are convinced that stars is rigged. If that's the case I don't understand why you choose to keep playing there. Judging from your posts in this forum and your "rigged" streak you are very obviously tilting which won't help anything.
But seriously, if it is rigged you are throwing away thousands of dollars convincing yourself that you are correct... go play another site or hell go to a casino and play some live cards.
