Ya, hell logic is flawed. Like doesnt satan hate god? So if he does why would he work for god. You know, god ships a bad soul to hell and then satan is like ok, time to punch in and get to work making this guys life suck.

That isn't the point (and btw I didn't say it was God torturing anyone if you read my post.... not that it matters...)

My point was that people who believe in hell are clearly full of shit, cuz if they really believed in it, they wouldn't look calm and relaxed.  Nope.  They wouldn't.  They would be permanently freaked the fuck out, running in circles, needing huge amounts of psychological help to cope with the enormous psychological burden of knowing there's a good chance they will be spending all of eterinity burning in fire.

The reason I know this to be true is that in 10th grade summer school, we had to do group projects in our world history class (my group did our project on the topic of the atomic bombing of Japan in World War II).  But one of the other groups in our class did a project on the Rape of Nanking.  It was one of the most gruesome class projects I've ever seen, and probably will ever see.  I'll spare OT some of the gory details, but suffice to say they were VERY thorough on the topic of torture in the Rape of Nanking, and I pretty much know for a fact what people act like when they find out they are about to get severely tortured to an extreme extent for an indefinite amount of time.

I'm not just pulling this out of my ass.  

When people find out they are going to be tortured.  Tortured really really badly.  For a really really really long time.  They DO NOT act calmly about it.

Well, if you want the Christian version of how Satan came to be, I'll give it to you. You have to understand, as some people in previous religion threads don't seem to, that I'm only basing this on Christian teaching about the origin of Satan. I'm in no way saying that these teachings are unquestionably correct, 100% unequivocally true or that anyone on this board has to believe this. That's my new disclaimer, just to make it clear.

The answer to the question is that Satan used to be an angel. He is a fallen angel. Here's a good explanation (from bibletools.org)...

"Lucifer" means "Light-Bringer" or "Day Star." Ezekiel calls him "the anointed cherub who covers," which means he was one of the chief angels whose wings covered God's throne in heaven. He is specifically shown to be a created being, possibly the most beautiful, wise and perfect of God's creations.

But this mighty angel grew proud and vain in his beauty. He began to become envious of God's authority over the universe, and over maybe millions of years, he schemed to induce other angels to support him in an attempt to overthrow God. When he finally led one third of the angels (Revelation 12:4) to war against God in heaven, God cast him and his angelic troops back to the earth (Luke 10:18).
