In case you dont know what it is... Lucid dreaming is the conscious perception of one's state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer ("lucid") experience and usually enabling direct control over the content of the dream.

Over the years I have gained more and more control of my dreams. It's to the point where I can create things in my dreams from absolute nothing from time to time (for example, making something appear that I need). About 90% of the time I can do at least one thing "on-demand" and about 40% of the time I am in complete control. It's pretty cool.

I have alot of lucid dreams. A common tip is to go to bed, sleep for like 5 hours or so then wake up and stay awake for a short while and then go to bed again. I don't sleep that well and often wakes up once or twice during the night and it happen quite alot after falling asleep again.

Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?
To the topic:
I haven't but my wife and daughter seem to have this ability. I wonder if it has something to do with IQ or a highly developed imagination. Mine is very low on both accounts and theirs is over 160 and both are very creative and imaginative. My daughter has expressed that she experiences very vivid dreams with the ability to lead conversations, her actions and dictate the outcome of her dreams.

My buddy spent a summer trying to train himself to lucid dream.
He says that he had a few, and by the end was able to do it more often
than not. He said that a good trick is to, during a dream, look
at a watch/clock, look away, and then look back at it. Since
there is no time in dreams, the number will always be something
different, and that recognition will kick start your sleeping brain and
you can start controlling the dream. He also said that he mainly
flew around.

I dunno, I've had alot of very vivid dreams and things that qualify as out of body experiences. Not sure I'd talk about em in OT though...

wellI think the key to having a lucid dream is realizing that your dream simply isnt happening...like Ive said-I had been in dreams that I knew 99% were dreams but as bad things were happening I couldnt get the worry out to where I could actually enjoy the lucidity
This is how a dream went recently...dont even ask why
My roommate and I went to a party at a house in the woods in the middle of nowhere...most of the dream was me looking for my laptop so we could leave the party. After what seemed like hours, I realized I hadnt even brought it. So we go outside and for some reason I am looking at the hood of my car...I ACCIDENTALLY (simply not possible) removed the valve cover from my engine. As I was putting it back on, it began sparking and the engine burst into flames. Knowing my car was about to explode my roommate and I ran down a ravine right in front of the car. Looking up I saw the engine flame getting larger and waited for a huge explosion. It never came but the flame made a muffled noise and the flame just went out. WTF thought myself and my roommate. I was pretty sure I was dreaming at this point but the idea that my car's engine was destroyed kept me from enjoying it. If I needed any more confirmation it was a dream, I got it when I walked back up the ravine.
There was a fucking 30 foot great white shark sitting on top of my car.
then i woke up
gg lucid dream

In my regular dreams I always turn over a full house and lose to a higher full house. But when I have a lucid dream, I always control the outcome so I hit my one-outer on the river for quads.

I seriously think I am the best dreamer in the world. I didn't know what it was called until I read this thread, but I will explain what I know.
On second thought, I don't know if what I am describing is correct. In my dreams, I can do whatever I want with myself (my character), but can't change anything that is in the backdrop of the dream. Are you able to actually change the surroundings? Every dream I have, I know it is a dream, which is why I do some crazy shit in my dreams that I would never do in real life.
I can wake up from a dream if I want, it might take one or two attempts, but I almost always can wake up if I want to. This may be the reason why I have very few nightmares, because I just wake up and get onto a good one. But on the same token, I sometimes wake up from a good dream, just because I am enjoying it so much, it starts to slowly fade away.
The only time I don't dream is when I drink a ton the night before, then I am just out cold.
I don't think my experiences qualify as lucid dreaming, but I do kick ass at it.

Your mind is unable to control light levels in a lucid dream. If you are ever unsure if you are dreaming or not find a lightswitch. In a dream you can't turn lights on or off.
