Breckenridge, CO legalizes weed/anyone over 21 can have up to an oz

DENVER — The Colorado ski town of Breckenridge has voted overwhelmingly to legalize marijuana.
Early returns Tuesday night showed the proposal winning with 72 percent of the vote. The measure would allow adults over 21 to have up to 1 ounce of marijuana.
The measure is largely symbolic because pot possession remains a state crime for people without medical clearance. But supporters said they wanted to send a message to local law enforcement to stop busting small-time pot smokers.
The vote comes as communities nationwide are struggling with how to enforce pot laws at a time when medical marijuana has surged in popularity.

I haven't smoked in almost 9 years, but this excites me.

I've been wanting to smoke again, but am always fearful about going in for a random drug test and losing my job.

I'd love for it to be legalized so I can smoke without worries.

How does one go about getting a medical card?  I wouldn't be smoking a ton, but it'd be nice to smoke a little when hanging out with my friends.

The last couple times I've had the chance I've had to pass cuz I was either applying for jobs or just about to get a job.

Having lived there 5 years I reallllyy expected a 90-95% yes vote. Who the FUCK are these 28% who don't smoke pot! Only parents who moved there with kids seemed to be possible opponents even though mosttt parents I knew smoked too lol. The nerdy set must be growing in size.... I went to parties with cops there while people smoked pot a few feet away on the deck they were all on. No one caressss! Drunk driving is the thing to dodge there. Pretty cool they voted though! EDIT: I don't smoke but I wouldve voted yes to allow it.

there's all sorts of doctors around that offer "Medical Marijuana Evaluations" which (from what I'm told by friends with cards, anyway) essentially ask you for $200 and an  hour of your time to figure out any possible thing that could be wrong with you to qualify for a medical card.  There's a place where I live that will refund the fee for your visit if it turns out you don't qualify.  Just look for ads on billboards or in your local paper, should be plenty.  If not, I'm sure a quick trip to Googleville will get you where you need to be
