Nah, just ship the Koolaid to the folks that think this is going to result in huge long lines, one-month wait periods for necessary surgeries, 24 hr waiting periods at the ER, and more people who don't get necessary treatments and die as a result.
All I know is that FINALLY a system is in place that will prevent the private insurance companies from charging ridiculously exorbitant costs, and will put a leash on how much we are charged for certain procedures. These insurance companies have been running us over for a long time. Trust me, as someone who pays for 100% of their own insurance, and has to battle with them for them to cover what they are supposed to every time I get treated, this is a nice, welcome change.
It's still not what I hoped for, but the American public is firmly against Universal Health Care for some odd reason, so it can't pass.

Funniest post I have read in a while. What a disconnect from identifying problems in the current system to the proposed resolution. Wishful thinking at its finest. Are you even aware of any alternative solutions to the problems you cite, cost and coverage/claim denial?
Trust you? Why? I'm certain that you have not read this bill. ftr this system is not in place and never will be or did you forget about the legislative body we call the US Senate. I can feel the emotion in your post though, especially your comment about the American public. Ever stop to think about what odd reasons there may be to be on favor of an alternative other than Universal healthcare?

That's funny Mr Galt. The irony to me is that it was wage controls that
started us down this path of employer based health insurance, now we
are going to fix it with more controls and regulation. The people in
our government are so smart and such students of history.

wonder if the republican bill with cross state sales and tort reform will even be looked at. It actually does cut costs according to the CBO. It's only a small start of what needs to be done, but if it were implemented it could be started tomorrow, the other bill will be years away.
on another subject, looks like pot will be legal by 2012

Please link me to where they say costs will go down? The CBO has said there is a good chance prices for most of Americans will go up. Younger people can no longer get discounts for being healthy, essentially they socialized it and by pooling everyone. My guess is Jennifear is in your specific spot paying 100% and being relatively young is your costs are going up not down. If you were 58 and had cancer, yes your costs will go down. If you happen to be in the poverty level then you will get a subsidy but I dont think your in that category either.
