Honestly? Are state is the biggest fuck up broke state out there. To name the problems we have would be like saying every line from War and Peace. Now with our new education problems and student loans it just gets worse and worse. Ty Boxer and Pelosi for our excellent democratic gov. Not only have you drived businesses out of our state, but you have some how managed to pass a bill for a railway that we can't afford all while paying for MJ services for no reason at all( well LA fault). Ty the people are finally realizing it and turned down all the new props and bills they tried to pass recently. Even arnold is saying he is going to stop spending. Who knows maybe he will finally be what he said he was?

This is why I can't understand the democratic party. Tell me if I am wrong

I think that California is just a mirror image Bush's fucked up spending spree policies.

Nope, the core of Bush's spending was for the war on terror, Afghanistan and Iraq.  Have you noticed the spending spree Obama is endeavoring?  It's an effort to make government permanently high-cost and in high-control of private affairs.  Now THAT is like California.
Thats the problem with everyone, we all want to talk shit about the other side.  Both sides are out of their fucking minds.

Bush spent money we didn't have.  Obama is spending money we don't have.

same story recently, as the rejection of new power generation facilities being built 10-15 yrs ago, until all of a sudden the state had a superhot summer, with brownouts.... then, oh, it's the fault of the merchant power companies!!! Oh wait, wasn't it the state and local governments that denied the permits to build sufficient facilities to generate demand?  hmmmm.....

standard though.... same type of lessons that will be learned 5-10 years from Obama's fucked-up socialist policies... oh, we didn't incentivize people to exert effort and increase output and productivity?  That sledgehammered our economy? wow I wonder why?

yep, about right

Problem with eduction is we pay teachers and educational staff too much money.  They should all get a 50% pay cut.

darkpoker12:

There are just as many businesses in the state as ever.  We are like the 4th largest economy in the world.  The problem is we are not taxing enough and spending that money on new jobs.

The railway was passed by voters in a proposition.  There may be high speed rail as part of the stimulus, between LV and LA, however federal monies will pay for that.  Thus, we are getting some of our fair share back as California pays far more into the system so governors in AK and steal the money for bridges and put it in their general transportation fund.  If we got back the money we overpay, we would be set.

darkpoker12:
all while paying for MJ services for no reason at all( well LA fault).

MJ has paid more than $1 billion in taxes over $100 million to the State.  It should be an honor to provide the last respects with all the money he has paid to the State and Country.  Furthermore, State income taxes on the super rich are like 10%, it flattens out, not progressive, and the right wing party of the state fails to fix this.

I voted no on those bills.  Mainly because they have failed to show they can limit state employee pay or shorten the work week.  We need to increase the taxes on the wealthy, those that have robbed the poor.

darkpoker12:
Even Arnold is saying he is going to stop spending.

Arnold got elected by lowering the car tax that Gray Davis wanted.   Now he wants the tax. The spending is not the problem, it is all the fraud and waste of the State government and  rather than take time to cut everybodies wages and eliminate 70% of the spending that goes nowhere except someones pocket.  They want the quick solution of raising taxes.

Hopefully they fired everyone and give every citizen a voucher.

It was all a fraud.  Free market generation would work.   People must expect to pay a little more at the start.  If anything we should buy electricity from States like Idaho that make electricity at 1/3 the cost we do.  It was nothing to do with permits (although they should eliminate the permits), the problem has to do with no interest  to make a free market system.   The state and utilities like it the way it is.

You can trasport electricity over 1000 miles with little loss.

But, there really is no need for the grid with cheap photovoltaics.  The grid should be dismantled.
