i have never felt so worthless/sick/upset/angry/devastated in my life. i looked, it isn't there, i know where i had to have dropped it. i know $1700.00 isn't baller but it's what i could afford, it's the one she wanted and it was in my pocket ready for the proposal. my girlfriend is crying, but not tears of happiness. tears of my boyfriend is a fucking moron. i was looking forward to posting celebratory pictures tonight. fuck my mother fucking life. /killself
EDIT: Asked her anyway tonight while watching fountains in our room @ Bellagio, she said yes (weeee!). Pics to follow this week. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate them, thanks for letting me vent. As far as a ring goes, will be working to get another one and til then we will have to find something. RingPop?

Can't believe no one has said this yet. Just go dominate the craps table and boom.......new ring. But seriously, it does suck but look at how she's taking it. Seems like she is an excellent girl. You guys will be fine.

You could do like we did and get your bands tatt'd on. Shaunne didn't even want a ring. I did get her one but she never wore it. She wears the anniversary ring though.
Like others said just use this as a story you can tell your kids and grandkids. Go take 50-100 bucks and go to the craps table like md said or go to the roulette wheel and kill it. Then go to one of the pawn shops and get more bang for the buck!

hey i just skimmed this thread and didnt read every reply so maybe this was asked but....
why did you tell her you even lost it? i think i may have not said anything and just put off asking until i got a new ring
but i do understand it may take you awhile to be able to afford another one
I think I wouldnt say anything and then when I got home I would get a new one by just taking the hit and charging the new ring to credit card(s) and then propose the next weekend
this really sucks but i dont feel too sorry its only 1700 and i remember your spurs posts from way back...hopefully you stopped making spurs posts

She said yes! Thats what matters. Go out and get a 50 cent ring from a machine, a bottle of something, and go back to the hotel room and snuggle up together and talk about what a great future you are going to have.

If your chick isn't mad at you for losing a 17K ring that's more than enough proof that's she just worth marrying in the first place (think you knew that already)

errr - $1700, not $17K - i think they'd both be a bit more upset if it was a $17K ring - but i'm sure she's worth marrying, just the same it's only a material object - it can be replaced with time - congrats and gl!

Side note/ethical question:
How many people here would turn in this ring if they found it on the casino floor? Also, does it matter if you happen to be running really good/bad at the time?
His best hope is that the person that found it had clear morals, which makes this a legitimate question.
As for the OP, I really hope it turns up soon. I think your best chance is that someone has it right now and is sitting in his hotel room debating whether to keep it/sell it or not. Hopefully he/she will make the right decision and you'll be getting a call from lost-and-found soon.
I'm rooting for you in the handicapping pool.

appreciate the advice but i addressed the issue earlier. she was crying because she was upset at the situation and it obviously was upsetting me a lot. course she wants it, she picked it out, but by no means was she mad at me. if that were the case i would agree with you and get out asap.
lost and found still turned up nothing. i was basically laughed off by security when i asked about checking the tapes, but that's understandable. maybe ill submit this to FML, it may have a chance. i can't sleep either. im glad i could vent to OT, its like practice before i have to face the 20+ people that know I was going to propose this weekend.
