As we enter the 2009 Postseason, it's time to vote on the superlatives for the 2009 regular season.

In an effort to keep things as simple as possible, I'm asking all of you to PM me with your votes on the following categories; or post in this thread:

Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year .

Please submit your votes to me ASAP. I will end the voting on Tuesday, November 10th at 11:59PM and announce the winners on Wednesday, November 11th.

And now for the nominees...

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Josh Freeman, QB, Indianapolis Cots

The Rookie Signal Caller put up gaudy stats in a turbulent and weird season that saw him lead two different playoff contending teams this season. His Colts fell just short of the playoffs in a heartbreaking OT loss in the final game of the season.  Freeman finished the year with 4,632 yards through the air with 43 TDs.  The Rookie was a little mistake prone, getting sacked 41 times and throwing 25 picks while putting the ball on the ground 5 times.

Beanie Wells, RB, Detroit Lions

Beanie came to the Lions before the trade deadline and enjoyed the change in scenery.  The Lions’ offense came to life behind Wells’ 949 yards rushing and 21 TD’s.  Beanie was a huge part of the Lions' passing attack as ‘Wells’, catching 50 passes for 551 yards and 6 TD's.

Mark Sanchez, QB, Washington Redskins

The USC rookie didn’t disappoint the Skin faithful this year leading the Hogs to an NFC East Division title.  Sanchize put up 3289 yards and 32 TD’s through the air in an offense that relies mostly on Deangelo.

Honorable Mention: Andre Brown, RB, Denver Broncos; Matt Stafford, QB, Miami Dolphins;  Percy Harvin, WR, San Diego Chargers; Lesean McCoy, RB, Detroit Lions;  Knowshon Moreno, HB, Miami Dolphins; Pat White, QB, Houston Texans

Defensive Rookie of the Year

James Laurinaitis, MLB, Carolina Panthers

The Big Ten is known for their MLB’s and James did little to disappoint the Panther fans, or the Big Ten homers this year.  Laurinaitis was all over the field making 10 INT’s (taking 2 to the hizzle), 12 TFL’s and 44 tackles.   Look for this guy to become the premiere MLB in the league.

Micheal Johnson, DE, Tennessee Titans

The definition of edge rusher is embodied by this guy.  He led the league in sacks (13) grabbed 3 INT’s (1 for TD) forced 3 fumbles (2 returned for TD’s by fellow All Rookie Tyson Jackson) and recorded 30 tackles, 17 for loss.

Aaron Curry, LB, Washington Redskins

The future looks bright in Washington with two nominees for ROY honors. Curry led a strong LB core for the Skins with 43 Tackles, 12 for loss, 5 sacks, 5 int’s and 2 TD’s.  Throw in 4 forced fumbles and this might be the most well rounded season of any defensive player in the league.

Honorable Mention: Louis Delmas, SS, Washington Redskins; Everrette Brown, DE, Denver Broncos;  Tyson Jackson, DT, Tennesee Titans;  Paul Kruger, LB, Houston Texans.

Offensive Player of the Year

Drew Brees, QB, Tennessee Titans

Breesus was on all season.  45/10 TD to INT ratio, 5200+ yds passing, 73 completion percentage.   Drew led the Titans to a 15-1 record and the mantle as the highest scoring team in the league.

Adrian Peterson, HB, Buffalo Bills

AD doesn’t aptly name Adrian anymore.  AS, as in All Season.  The Beast of East Texas origin put up 34 rushing TD’s and 2306 yds averaging 8+ yds /carry.  WOW.

Chris Johnson, HB, Cincinnati Bengals

Cj’s numbers this season were sick, pretty stupid actually. 109 receptions, 1695 yards, and 19 TD's.  And that wasn’t it.  24  more TD’s with 1394 yards running.  Puke.

Honorable Mention:

Frank Gore, RB, Oakland Raiders; Peyton Manning, QB, New England Patriots; Steve Smith, WR, Tennessee Titans; Calvin Johnson, WR, Carolina Panthers. Jerrious Norwood, HB, Houston Texans; Felix Jones, RB, Tennessee Titans;  Eli Manning, QB, Green Bay Packers

Defensive Player of the Year

Will Witherspoon, LB, Detroit Lions

Dude went off .  Will led the ferocious Lions who went 15-1 this year.  Along the way he collected 50 Tackles, 13 TFL, 8 sacks, 5 picks (2 for TD), and 5 forced fumbles.

Gary Guyton, LB, Detroit Lions

46 Tackles, 11 TFL, 6, sacks, 8 ints (1 for TD) .  Yawn.  EZ game, right Lions?

Micheal Johnson, DE, Tennessee Titans

Yah, he might not win Rookie of the Year, but this young man shined brightest this season on a defense crowded with stars.  Stats: 30 Tackles, 17 TFL's, 13 sacks, 3 Ints (1 TD), 3 FFB.

James Laurinaitis, MLB, Carolina Panthers

See Micheal Johnson above. Stats: 43 Tackles, 10 Int's (2 TD's), 3 sacks.

Honorable Mention:  Reggie Nelson, FS, Carolina Panthers; Stephen Cooper, MLB, Denver Broncos;  Andrian Wilson, FS, Pittsburgh Steelers; Aaron Curry, LB, Washington Redskins;  Jared Allen, DE, New England Patriots; Keith Rivers, LB, Buffalo Bills; Asante Samuel, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Trent Cole, DE, Houston Texans
