I can't wait to make more money playing poker so I can give some away. I hope I'll be able to give a lot, Barry Greenstein-style.
I mean, we sleep in our nice comfortable beds in air condiotioned homes and have never had to worry about shelter or food or mesquito nets to protect us from malaria or whatever.
Whenever I get really pissed about something, I can't help but think how I'm not a starving kid in Africa. I can't complain about shit, you know?
Well, I think it's cool you posted this because people need to think about it.

It brought tears to my eyes... I threw out half a pizza last night - here's a kid passing due to lack of food.
We tend to forget other ppl in our own comfort... I got a 2 year old daughter, by the size of that kid in the pic I would say he's not much older - to imagine my daughter in has place makes me sick to my stomach... really

its been like this forever and it will still be like this hundreds of years from now in these very poor countries. theres nothing anyone can do especially america. places such as these are ran by corrupt governments and if america were to step in a try to help the whole world would think we are terrorists trying to take over another country. its sad but theres just nothing that can be done

I never understood how the photographers in these situation can profit off the death of these people. here he is taking the picture so he can be famous with a pulitzer prize and after seeing a starving person on his deathbed goes to his tent chows on ome food and leaves to go sell the picture . the money he makes from this picture is enough to feed that whole village, but they will not see a dime from him.
I think Sam Kinnison said it best, instead of sending money , send a bus and say how about moving outta the fucking desert when nothing grows. you cant grow rice in a desert.

This is def a horrible picture but those "Only $1 a day shit" is a fucking scam. I would have no problem donating money to help people like this is if i knew where every penny was going. I would want a detailed budget of what is going on.

do you really think that, during the sudan famine, mr. carter should be responsible for this child?
i think it's ignorant to say that he was doing this for the money.
also, if not for people like him, someone to record these disturbing images, im not sure we'd fully understand what's going on around us. i think it takes a tremendous amount of courage. it's photojournalism man.
and fyi according to mr. carter, he did chase away the vulture and the child made it to the feeding station.
