making someone pay for something they dont believe in as being one of the worst things you could do to another human

You are enslaving them - making them work for nothing.

So are you.  Pass the shrooms btw.

voting in 2012 will make a difference right?  we're voting in a system where our voice will never be heard.  the agendas set by two political parties will be furthered.  Our voices in this "democracy" or drowned out.  there is no "political voice of the populace".  there's just a Choice 1A and Choice 1B.

I didn't see that thread mariner, link? Maybe you're moving towards an independent now that the election bs is half over. (McCain stopped.) although you're more a dem leaning indie where I'm the other side of indie but let's cheer you're progress not bash it hahaha. Welcome to independentville. Even if you're a little twisted j/k.

I've been an Independent my entire life. Now I just don't think electing our officials even matters and that everything that's actually important is rigged from the top anyways.
fkn right on here... i have many views that one would consider to be liberal and many that are conservative...in general I think our whole political system needs an overhaul... about the only thing I really feel passionate about is taxes. The liberals want to increase my taxes all the time....

the rest of the BS is exactly that and we (the people) really have zero control over what happens in DC.....

there is hope on the horizon but unfortunately it's up to connecticut to give us this hope. If Peter Schiff defeats Dodd it could cause a libertarian domino effect. Politicians will get the message that we the people want to be left alone and with the popularity Ron Paul is gaining his army is growing rapidly. The libertarian party has figured out they can't win with the party name so they are infiltrating the republican party. So hopefully the idiots that are currently republican can still learn what they once stood for instead of God, and bigger but not quite as big government as democrats.

hard to believe Lincoln was a republican, wonder what he'd think of his party now

wow

We have control if we use physical force to overhaul things, like the motherfucking French Revolution or some shit (eloquent, I know). However, I truly believe that we have no control over anything anymore without the use of physical force and literally creating anarchy and taking over the government ourselves.

This dude is dangerous.  Can't let this crisis go to waste.  Hurry and pass healthcare or we are screwed.  We need to tax energy and polluters immediately. He called the economy a disaster/catastrophe/the worst economy since the great depression and then claims they didn't realize how bad it was.  He will be stopped.  I just hope it is before he does anymore permanent damage.

This guy hates what America stands for and appologizes for our values daily.  Reagan must be spinning like a top.

Not much has changed in 40 years

I'd argue that Obama stands for everything America has always stood for and would get along quite well with Reagan.

I'd say he's trying to change the status quo that everyone has been bitching about for as long as I can remember.  The gvt is too big... they aren't doing enough... they're too involved... they aren't involved enough.  Who know's what's right or what's wrong.  Obama isn't sitting in a room hatching his evil plan.  He's listening to expert opinions, listening to advisors, coming up with solutions and proposing them to congress.  If they don't make sense, congress should figure out how to fix it or drop it.
I think he actually gives a shit and wants to make things work better for our future, maybe he's on the wrong track, IDK, but frankly he couldn't fuck up any more than the bumbling idiot who just left.  I know, I don't know shit, but I really give him credit for trying to do something.  Maybe his methods are fucked but he's not just playing the game.

We Get It. You have a job and You're the President.

lol... pretty much.

I didn't watch the sales pep rally, which was kind of humorous for him to deliver shortly after his party told him he's not close.

Zero - and I mean zero - chance that any of this socialist health care passes before Congress recesses..... and hopefully it never does.

"A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever."

I'm not sure that I believe that in its entirety, since I do believe that some things can be corrected... but the point in comprehensive terms is valid nonetheless.
