thinking of getting a costco membership but not sure if its really worth it.... we have a  small apartment and household of 2.

basically they have cheaper contacts and i'm interested in their steak and beer/alcohol prices...

thereraise wants to eat their free samples....

are there any other deals to make me shop here?

we get most of our groceries at trader joes and a local farm to market store (Henry's)

Yes.  If nothing else for cheaper alcohol and there are other things you will buy in bulk that you can save money on.

I would say got for it.  It is only $50 and you can save that in the meat dept alone.  Also if you think you might be getting an electronic item you would def make the money back.

Just make sure that you know your prices for the normal sizes before you go.  Not everything is a good deal and some are even more.

Costco is great - they have great prices on all sorts of household stuff - plus good deals on electronics, etc. - and great prices on wine with a surprisingly decent selection - I know you can use the pharmacy even if you're not a member, so you may want to check about getting contacts there without a membership if you decide not to get one

Also I don't know if it is the same for Costco but with Sam's Club you used to be able to have two names with the membership so you can split it with someone.

1. I truly believe the quality of Costco products are better than the other big boxes.

2. Outstanding return policy. (the electronics return policy changed, but still, overall - A+

3. Costco Branded American Express will get you $$$ back at the end of the year.

(you have to spend the rebate at Costco, but, $ is $)

4.  Excellent value for fresh flowers.

5.  Seasonal Specials - Second to none.

6.  Cheap place to have Pizza n' Soda for lunch.  (i'm mean REALLY inexpensive)

7. Always the least expensive price on gasoline.

8. DRAWBACK...    they are ALWAYS so busy.

still $1.50 for a big ass polish sausage and a medium soda. You can't come close to beating that anywhere

you will save that $50 just on gas if you buy it at costco.

you might splurge for the more expensive membership or credit card or whatever it is that gives you 2% back on your yearly purchases. so if you guys spend $2500 over the course of the year, it's worth it to get that one since it's double the price.

i normally spend about 100-200 bucks anytime i go in there, and about 30-60 bucks a week just on gas. so i wish i would have gone with the more expensive one since the GF also buys her own stuff and gas.

We get alot of stuff for the holidays there. We may use the card a total of 10-20 times a year but it more than pays for itself.
