Okay, so I'm 99% sure that every single one of us has played one of these three games growing up: Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and/or 3.
Well, I found this website that has videos of what they call speed runs...and I've been watching a few of them, currently watching Mario64 (man, I SUCKED at that game, the joy stick tilted me so bad!), and WOW! These guys are sfsick!!!
They beat the gawd damn game in less time then it took me to do the first fckin' world!
And Super Mario 3? My brother (not Chaz) and I used to OWN (figurtively and literally) that game! (Or so I thought...until I saw these freaks play. We had the whistle locations known and we got pretty good, but man...these guys put me to shame!

Those levels tilted the fuck outta me! sfslow! I have no idea what you mean, but you mean that he jumps on the cannon balls when they're fired? Yeah, he did that, but not a ton.
FFS, the man beat the whole damn game in 11 minutes! Either he's that good, or has a horseshoe embedded in his ass! (Prob both, imo)

lol... there's thousands of speed runs out there and 99.9% of them are frame speed runs (tool assisted).

Yeah, I got an emulator (sfcool, how the hell did I never know about these?) and have been playing some old school games...ahhhh the nostalgia.
But says these are verified no cheating....dono how, but I'd assume it's reasonably likely that they are...

i'm fairly sure i read about these being fake, maybe a repost here? not sure but im 90% sure i heard/read somewhere they are fake.

Well, even if fake, pretty damned impressive. I watched the Super Metroid one, and doesn't seem fake. They screw up (lol @ screw up in these things...their screw up is a monumential achievement for me) sometimes...

For the record, I was an original Ninentdo geek. I have my name in Nintendo Power magazine for best lap times on 2 different tracks of Excitebike (I'm sure it's been beaten by now, but it was like 1990 or something)...
However, I am most proud of the time I was able to beat the entire game of Super Mario Brothers in under 5 minutes - from start of game to beating the last dragon dude - I was challenged and I played my ass off for days and finally did it - I think my hey-day was when I was 10 - like, 5th or 6th grade.
EDIT: to be clear, I used all advantages (no cheating) such as warps, etc to win in 5 minutes. No idea how long it wuld take to play every level.

Pretty sick considering the current record is 5 min flat.
I'd be lucky to beat that game period...let alone with any semblance of speed. I can still beat SM3 though...love the whistles...

It says on that site it is the current best time from 2007... I'm sure there have been plenty of times it has been done and not reported.
It is actually not that hard when you are playing it all day and night like I did.
