Rua won but that's not how you win a championship IMO. You have to end the fight or be dominant.

Dana white telling shogun you won the fight you won the fight I saw it clearly lol@ that garbage ass decision

Shogun put on a pure muay thai clinic, clean effective striking, aggresion and did WAY more damage. I didnt even see shogun flinch and machida was clearly hurt look at his legs. Machida was completely flat footed by the end of the fight and shogun was landing at will with every body shot and every leg shot.

ugh garbage judges cant believe they are paid for this shit.

worse than bisping in England decision.

No way, not even close.

This is just a weird fight to score...  Nothing solid landed by both fighters, but Rua just landing a lot of leg kicks (and missing even more)...

Like I said, a weird, weird fight to try and call... I have to watch this one again, it's so weird.

Just look at the stats.  Kicks/punches landed for Shogun was so much more.  Plus Lyoto did NOTHING.  Lyoto's body was destroyed and that was easy to see.  Just name one thing Lyoto did to win

He did land the more significant punches (note, punches not kicks) and did have the most dangerous flurries and was, imo, closer to finishing the fight...  He did have shogun pressed up against the cage eating punches...

Not saying either way, but it was a close fight, and a weird one to have to score...

If it was a non title fight, maybe the judges would score different.  It wasnt like Shogun beat the shit out of machida decisively.  He just won rounds lol.  Machida is in the best situation as champion.  He can do his running and keep the belt now.  Its up to the challenger to have to chase him down and open themselves up to score points and that is when machida is at his best.

Shogun slowly chased him down and outpointed him in my orafice.  They prob give the round to the champion if it was a close round.  All rounds were close technically.  Im gonna go watch the karate kid...gn

clearly they didn't want the belt switching hands again in a champs first defense.  Awesome fight. There is no one in the UFC that will give machida that amount of problems again.  Not even Anderson and he knows it.
