Here is my problem.. Last October or November my couisin was arrested down in Kentucky. Now he tells everyone in my family that he was with someone that was stealing something and got caught.  But last week he went back down there for his pre-trial and they offered him a del of 7 years in a federal prison. Now if you ask me that sounds pretty fishy and eveyrone knows he lying but no one knows the truth. If they offer you a deal of 7 years they are cuttin you a break. So I am thinking armed robbery or something. But I have googled it and everything and cant find it nowhere.  Please any links where I could look it up or what. I dont know what town or anything. I just know he got arrested in October or Novmeber of 2007.  Thanks

You have to go into the Docket and look at the date of his trial and it list them there.

2nd degree burglary is  serious usually like a 4-15 year sentence if convicted depending on his criminal history,
what does his background look like?

That was cool of you to locate that for the OP, now when are you gonna find time to post pics of your neighbor and sister-in-law?

I just got done talking to my mom and she was the phone with his mom. SHe said at the pre-trial his lawyer showed up and didnt even know who he was represnting and what the charges were against my cousin. Cause he cant afford a lawyer it was appointed to him. And his lawyer told him to take the deal. Cause he said this was the worse court in Kentucky. SO unless this lawyer has something up his sleeve looks like bye bye cousin for some years..

Being from Canada, getting 7 years for that seems so crazy to me.

second degree would be a crime of opportunity or in the heat of passion/ not pre meditated your walking down the street and see the back door to a store open and you rob it, then get poped off by the po's.

or it could mean the class of the crime which has differant sentencing ranges

murder or rape would be a class 1 felonly which means the most serrious crime
a class 2 or second degree would be right behind the most serrious crime
