Wrestlers, Fighers, Etc. Best way's to cut weight

I have a weight loss bet with my friend before we go to Vegas on Wednesday night. We had 2 months each to lose 20 lbs. We weigh in on Wednesday morning at 8 am. I need to be at 204 and am currently at about 208. Can I lose approx. 4 lbs over the next 70 hours? I was never a wrestler, but I know there are some good weight cutting techniques. Right now my plan is to eat next to nothing, two-a-days at the gym on the treadmill (approx. 7 miles per day) and start to limit my water intake. Then on Tuesday night/Wed. morning spend some time in the sauna. Can I get there with this strategy? Any other hints from the wrestlers in OT that did this on a regular basis?

Thanks!

I remember my first year of wrestling, weighing 85 pounds (98lbs being the lowest official weight class in NY at the time) and eating/drinking on the way to meets while teammates were jogging & spitting on the bus ride to lose that last pound.  They were so jealous...

we had the same thing on our team.  recruited some 90 pound kid for 103 cuz we were forfeiting every match at 103 (and we were a really good team too so that wasnt good ).  he won some matches for us, but i still cringe at the thought of the tourney where he lost to a girl...then has to wrestle her again on the consolation side of the bracket and lost again:/.  he did get to eat on the bus tho.

If you think DC has bad humidity you might want to never visit the south in the summertime.

lol.

Im so happy that in my 4 years (103, 112, 119, 119) that i never had to wrestle a girl. All the guys above and below me had to but I always lucked out. None of them ever lost tho, which was a good thing.

Even at 103 I still had to cut weight. I was 115 and the teams didnt have a 103. I have no idea why i ever agreed.

Just work out, limit your food intake and drink plenty of water.  At your weight four pounds should be fairly easy.

but he is 6 foot 8.

All the extreme stuff (saunas, garbage bags, no water, etc.) is only necessary at the very end.  It's dangerous to get that dehydrated, even short term.  When I look back at how fucked up we were in high school to make weight...really stupid.

You can sweat out 4-5 pounds of water weight in an afternoon if you follow some of the advice in this thread.  Until then, just keep doing what you've been doing (eat light, supplements to maintain nutrients).

I appreciate the responses guys...I was only planning on the cutting water/sauna stuff in the last 16-24 hours if it was really necessary. I guess I feel like I can drop 2 of the 4 lbs no problem with a serious diet and exercise for three days. Just wondering if the extra 2 lbs was doable in a sauna for an hour or so before weigh in. Sounds like it should be from the responses.

You wrestlers were crazy in high school, that had to be a hell of a committed lifestyle.

I'm kind of doing the same thing as you, but this morning I weighed 205 at 6'1. Then I got a haircut and showered and weighed 204. Then I ran 2 1/2 miles and now weigh 205.5. I think it's time for a new scale.
