WOWZER I'd be really scurred if I were a Moderate Democrat up for re-election in 2010.  I would be like "public option, huh?, no no no I don't want no stinkin public option".  LOLZ

UD is smarter than I thought.  I should have been MIA last Nov, ha ha.

While both parties still suck and we can all disagree on which is worse, one thing is clear to me.

With both parties sucking the way they do it is absolutely VITAL for neither party to have complete control.

Both parties have shown that when the get all the power it takes them like a nano-second to decide that they have a mandate to over-reach and push thru all of the crazy radical ideas that most Americans don't want.

Seems like things are swinging a bit back towards the GOP and if they ever get full control back, let's just hope that they learn their lesson and stay true to what Americans actually want.

If the Republican party dropped the religious right and actually ran on a platform that emphasized small government and government staying out of people's lives they would crush the democrats in every single election ever

As a mostly liberal who voted for Obama, I actually agree with this 100%.

I have seen several similar posts by you.  I don't get it.  How is it at all consistent for a  liberal who voted for Obama to be desirous of smaller government and government staying out of people's lives?  I understand the religious right part, but the rest seems very odd to me.

Good question Willy.

Jackaaron, you should take a look at exactly where Obama is trying to drag this country.

You can still be a Democrat and hate what a Democrat is doing enough to not vote for him/her.

For proof, take a look at the Upstate NY race results last night.

Obama will do more damage to this country by transforming his base to what he is (a radical Socialist) than he will by fighting (and even defeating) Republicans and Conservatives.

You Democrats have to watch your own house (or tent as it were) because someone has snuck in and is in the process of violating your wife and kids.

All of you folks who believe that if the GOP dropped their conservative social platform they would all of a sudden win every election are somewhat naive.  There are just as many, (and in my opinion more) people who vote Republican because of its opposition to gay marriage, than those who vote against the party based on this.  The conservative social agenda of the platform surely alienates some people, but it also brings in a lot of voters.  If it didn't you would have seen the Libertarian party increasing its strength throughout the country.  That party is floundering, and yes it is mostly do to lack of funding, but at the same time, it hasn't increased its popularity at all.
