Well, it looks like they are finally moving in the right direction. There is some hope for me actually having a third site to play on now, that is, if they have new software that is impossible to cheat through. Now they are only a few apologies, pressed charges, and refunds away from having a new member. Will those of you that left like me, return for CEREUS?

Nope. This is a dumb idea. Merge two junky/corrupt companies (that were already the same anyway), create a new, flashy platform, and call it by a different name? C'mon. Can you say smoke and mirrors?
But I can't blame them for trying I guess. Consumers are fickle. And new players come into the equation all the time. Ppl will forget what happened and news and outrage of the scandal will fade. A new name and image will help them distance themselves from the wafting pile of manure that is their "former" organization.
They've already shown they have a giant marketing budget w/ all those ghey tv ads. The promotion team will just be licking their chops now at the opportunity to market a new brand. Like PT barnum said...

One of the strangest plants of the desert, the Night-bloomiing Cereus is a member of the Cactus Family that resembles nothing more than a dead bush most of the year. It is rarely seen in the wild because of its inconspicuousness. But for one midsummer's night each year, its exqusitely scented flower opens as night falls, then closes forever with the first rays of the morning sun.

I can't believe people are actually falling for this. Why would you have any reason to trust them now. What has really changed? We've been told nothing other than.....you caught us - it was an insider - here's your money back - you caught us again here's your money back - new company name and a promise it can't happen again.
I don't know about you but I feel safe playing there.
Oh and people are still owed money from new accounts discovered after their 1st release by 2+2 once again.

I LOL'ed. I'm hesitant to go back, but you have to believe that if they go through with this, that they have learned from their mistakes. They should be punished, and all of those involved should be punished. I feel that the current UB and AP should be shut down, and CEREUS not opened until the pending investigations are complete, EVERYONE is refunded, and those at fault are brought to justice.

I think it's too late for them. Changing names should have been done earlier in the game.

I think the improtant thing to remember here is Annie Duke has no affiliation at all with AP and she never will. WP lies.

does anybody know if ap and ub will be shut down when this new site opens up? I think its a decent enough idea, however it should have been announced after all investigations of wrong doing with ultimate bet were concluded

I hope knowledgeable poker players hate the site. I really hope that all p5ers and all the high stakes cash game players turn down the opportunity to play at this new site. I will GLADLY take all the blind and oblivious fishies and keep them all to myself :) You guys are the suckers who will be playing on sites like Full Tilt, which are filled with decent players that are getting better because of certain learning sites affiliated with Full Tilt.
I am SO glad that everyone hates UltimateBet. The site is so soft right now and if you guys weren't so stubborn, you might make a decent profit on UB. The goal of poker is to make as much money as possible. Stop letting your insecurities about UltimateBet stop you from doing that. Just my opinion though... GL at the tables :)
