Does anybody know who Joe Stein is?

I would bet 99% of the people on p5s don't know him. Joe worked at Enron and was a 1st line manager, he managed occupationals. As everyone knows, the CEO and other high ranking officials cheated Enron, its employees, stockholders and others of out a bazillion $$$.

Joe worked there but had nothing to do with it. So should we all be bashing Joe and any of the other 300,000 employees who worked there during the scandal. I think you know the answer.

I love how Annie assumes that we accept cheating as a part of playing.

Annie your companies are the only ones cheating their customers - Don't expect us to accept the fact that "Cheating will occur" - How about we strive for cheating not occuring instead of making excuses as to why we should trust a company that tells us nothing but lies and returns money when customers discover it had been stolen.

The constant vague statements are such BS - Trust me I know new management and they are not cheaters like old management - Seriously ?????? We should buy that as a reason to play at UB again??????

I've used this quote before but its too perfect for this situation.

As an online poker customer we all have the right to deposit and play on any site we choose to. I prefer not to deposit on sites that have been involved in cheating scandals as is being stated by many fellow P5ers.
To openly bash a representative of such sites as UB and AP at this time when they are comfortable enough to continue to back these sites is disrespectful. It is their choice and they obv receive payroll checks or they would not be doing it. If any of the people doing the bashing of these pros were in a situation to be compensated and felt good about changes that have been made or are being made, I bet you would take compensation as well.
Either deposit or don't.
Lets show some respect to Annie for having the guts to lay her reputation on the line.

Unreal that you have other pros trying to defend pros that 'stand up' for sites that have screwed people, CONTINUE TO LIE to its customers, and then try to continually attempt to cover things up.

Well, I for one am glad this merge took place as it will be better for us as online players. Ub has promised to get agressive with the guarantees and I think with the volume this will create that will be happening soon and the wait to fill up many of the tables will be lots faster with the added volume.

This is one main step Ub is trying to do to give you a better poker site. I am glad this step will be over soon so much of the much needed additions can now be made. I don't want to get into all the details as this leads to "when is it coming?" and it will come once it's been well tested and done correctly.

It really makes me sick to see Annie come on here and get bashed when I think we are all very lucky as online players to have a lady like this in our corner. She has done so much for the game we all love including fighting congress and trying to get bills passed for the betterment of all of us. The best part about Annie is a side very few get to see, It's that her kids mean everything to her and everything else is a distance second. I have much respect for Annie on all levels, As a person, as a poker professional and as a friend. It's nice being able to have a voice in the poker world where decisions you make often are for the good of many many players. It's very rewarding at times to know you are helping others in this business. We all do this because we have a deep passion for poker and it's often fun for us. 

I, Like Annie, Totally understand if you have no desire to play UB or AP and respect your opinion. I myself would love to see Ub become a site that truely listens to it's players and does what it can to cater to their players needs and wishes. I love dealing with the people behind the sceens that have this same inner passion to help create such a site. I feel Ub is really trying to do what they can to achieve this goal.

This forum is great for poker and it's great that you can come here and voice your opinion. I have been a member of pocketfives since the start and this is by far the best poker forum on the net. Adam and Cal have done a super job over the years.

Trust me when I tell you that Ub management reads these forums too because they want to provide a better product for all of us. It's in everyones best interest.

So you can't play on UB or AP anymore?  You can only play on Cereus, but under a UB or AP account, but not both?  So if you have an account on both then one gets closed and the money transferred?

also, will cereus count for the P5's rankings?

I'm not sure the traffic will be that great, a lot of people play on both sites so 'combining' them doesn't give you twice the numbers, or anywhere close imo.  Having a decent tourney schedule would be nice.

And please tell me that you can have avatars on Cereus. Why So Cereus?

Your statement attempts express your loyalty to this "new management" and how difficult a decision this has been for you, however, it doesn't mention your finanacial interest in the company and what you stand to gain personally if UB is able to turn this fiasco around. 

No offense, but you have diminished credibility when you have such an obvious bias.  Yes it would be easier for you to walk away, but the financial repercussions are obvious.  It's most frustrating when you paint yourself out to be some kind of martyr in this whole mess.  Where were you last week when all this breaking news about the UB scandal and KGC was surfacing?  You talk about transparency.  How about disclosing all this inside information of the transfer of ownership with time lines so we can have the same confidence that you have?

I think your spin is terrific, but full disclosure would be more satisfying to the player who puts his hard earned money on site that has been fraught with cheating.

yes I'm very concerned with avatars as well - that is actually my #1 concern when dealing with AP and UB...avatars.

The lies and bullshit is and always will be with ub/ap ....

They only tell us as much as they have to, when someone at 2+2 or such uncovers something more they admit to that and thats all then keep lying as if that is it and there is no more.  Now 'someone' has threatened nat so he will quit investigating further, and of course he says it is not the "current management"  because if someone threatens you and you decide its best if you shuddup are you going to tell everyone directly who it is if you take that threat serious and don't feel you have enough protection to stop the threat? (nice run on sentence ty)
 
They have never directly come out and tell us who the current "owners" and who the "cheaters" are leading us all to believe (and probably rightly so) they are one and the same.

As far as wtexman and defending "poor ole annie" .. get real man    don't rip the snake leading us into the den?

What happens when 1 person has a name on AP and sum1 else has that same name on UB? What happens then? Who gets to keep the name?

That is a really good question...let me try to find the answer out to that.
