ICM Spot...ur play?
By JLucky34 on 05-14-2008 7:42 PM

Knowing that the button understands the situation, what's your play and why?

It took all my time bank to decide what was optimal here, and I will say my choice after some of you discuss.

PokerStars Game #17434551044: Tournament #88378077, $15+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Level IX (300/600) - 2008/05/14 - 20:36:00 (ET)

His range is wide and it looks like he's making a bubble play bullying the short stacks in the blinds.  I think this is a std. call.  I mean you fold you have 560 left and no fold equity in that you have less than a blind.

Call you are beating a wide variety of his range, he could wake up with a hand but A7 suited is good enough go with it.

Gotta call. Can't fold there and leave yourself with no fold equity at all. Your A,7 suited is beating a lot of what he can raise with there. If he happens to have a bigger ace or pair then so be it.

But bullying the blinds here is not possible cause they're commited. Assuming he's competent he would not be making this play with a huge range, still I think KT, QJ are in his range. Top three get paid? Or is this an 18-man where top 4 get paid? $15+$1 is 18-man right?

No OP was in a 9 man sng and this is a very difficult spot...

I think its a call tho.

Jennafear would be great with this...

BB 100.0%, Any two

This is what ICM says. I think calling range for SB is kinda tight tho. Next hand you're gonna be the button, with 0 fold equity. I would close my eyes and call.

i am going to argue folding.......... i think that juanda is def committed as well, he will call with any 2, fold and watch juanda get knocked out

think this is a fold, button is unlikely to be raising with bad hands, but more important is the fact that the BB is commited in this or the next hand when the SB hits him or her. Since you say that the button has a good understanding of the game, he is unlikely to be raising with many hands that you can beat, thoose would be small pairs that your flippping with weaker aces or king queen king jackish kinda hands.  mostly youd be close to flipping against kq kj kinda hands or be dominated.Think the best way to make money here is hoping that BB goes bust on this or the next hand. If BB folds here you can allways fold your button and BB would be  allin(left with 30 i think) with the SB next hand. He or she would have to go with it as she would be anted out the next hand if folded(when your in the CO and can safely fold)

by saying that he has an understanding of THIS spot, he will commit both of us with close to any 2, since it won't affect his outcome much fyi

Maybe your right, but i think the stack are simply too short for the button too be fooling around here. He gonna get called too often

Hrrm... I agree with King on this one. It is very borderline but it looks like you allready have no FE and your opponent is going to be forced AI. Like king said its close but still a fold i think.

Clear ICM fold - IMO

Next hand: if juanda folds, he'll only have $20 and be forced all in on the next hand. Assuming 420 and Guy both limp, juanda's random hand is a dog vs. 2 random hands.

if folded 1.              2.                 3.

540       But            UTG (N/A) C    BB (N/A)

Lucky    SB (510) F   But (450) F    UTG (400)

juanda   BB (370) F   SB (20) F       But (0) Forced to play

guy       UTG           BB (N/A)         SB (N/A)
