Live tourney $75buyin 133 starting 5k starting stack 20min levels
I raised the first 5 hands and took 4 of 5 c-betting flop and not showing down a hand. So here's the hand that crippled me. I think that in a short leveled event like this trying to accumulate chips as quick as possible is the right move but I'm so horrible at tourneys who knows. Second level 50-100
Villian 6300 utg+1-raise to 400 Hero 7600 (3c3h) calls 400 blinds fold
FLOP:Ah, 5d, Kh
Vill-bets 600 Hero-Call 600
Turn 9c
Vill-Bets 1000 Hero-Calls 1000
River-Qh
Vill-bets 1500 Hero-All in
The guy tanks for a good 5 minutes and I just sat there and stared at the board. After a while he finally said "I hate ak, I know I'm beat and I don't have any chips so I call" He showed ak and I obv mucked it. Now is there anyway I get him to fold in that spot? I played it just for that card on the river and was trying to rep the flush but obv that didn't work to well. Anyone take this line ever?

if the chips are right then he only has 1800 chips behind him after betting hte river and hes almost never going to fold there...this early its not worth trying to make a great hero play and since u said u raised the first 5 hands u probably arent going to get that much respect to get a guy to laydown bighand

he had 2800 behind so I don't have the chips exactly right but I know thats what he had left and I had him covered by another 1300

You could float that flop (I probably just fold with the A and K flopping), but when a scare card (heart), or your 3 dont hit on the turn, and he is still betting, just give up. You played the turn and the river pretty horrible.

there's really no reason to invest more than the 400 u put in preflop

I'm no great shakes but it seems pretty unnecessary to continue after the flop
