Payment Methods at WSOP
By smerks on 05-15-2008 1:25 AM

Does anybody know if you can use a credit card to buy in to events? I found pre-registration information that says cashiers check or wire transfer but if you're there in person can you use a credit card?

If not whats the safest and cheapest way to get money from Canada down to Vegas.

Thanks

Why are you driving through Detroit? Why are you scared of getting robbed while going 70 mph?

Just wire it to the cashier cage at the rio.

If you dont like the wire transfer idea (probably best way to go), I would suggest finding a bank in canada near you that also has a branch in vegas. Don't know if there is one but would have to think there probably is. Then just open an account with and put the money you want to use in vegas in the account and go to the branch in vegas when u need it so you dont have to travel with it.

More important question...if you're going to the WSOP in Vegas, why are you driving?

Cashier check

Or i guess buy big chips at Ceazers Windsor and cash it @ Ceazers Vegas

I'm doing a bit of a road trip with a buddy through the states, stopping at Comerica for a game and we were planning on Wrigley but might go to a Red Wings game instead. Renting a car in Vegas if you're under 25 costs too much for 6 weeks so I may as well just drive my own car.

I'm leaning towards doing the cashiers check route now, but can I leave a balance at the Rio or when I cash it do I have to take the entire amount? I checked with my bank in Canada and they don't have any branches or affiliates in the US so thats not going to work for me. If any Canadians know of a bank with affiliates in Vegas please let me know.
