Apologies if this is a repost...
Could UK players who have come across this issue and have the lowdown on it, explain to me what the situation with paying tax if you make money playing poker in the UK is please? Thanks

Personally i think you should all just keep quiet, if u keep goin on about taxing poker players guess what, we'll all probably end up gettin taxed. Lets stay quiet, shhhhh

A court here ruled last year (or 2) that poker is a game of chance, therefore, how are they going to get around the decision if you show a pofit as a major source of income? A poker player went on trial and he asserted that poker was a game of skill, the jury thought not, they deemed it to be primarily a game of chance.

Joe seems to have looked into the matter pretty well, and there doesnt seem to be any definite legislation on it.
Im happy with that unless anything else new comes to light.
