Two people will be implicated here, you can probably guess who.  One is going to be removed from online poker forever and one is going be removed for a fair amount of time.

I was asked not to post specifics and that AP's statement is going to be detailed and is going to be released Sunday morning.

I do not care what they say,

They need to be shut down permantly.

We are not talking about a Hacker,  we are talking about people in their company who did this.

Their company is horrible and needs to lose everything and be shut down

Good point, WillyWoo.  I doubt AP will do much of anything (legally) but you can bet your bottom dollar the feds are following this.

"We should probably wait until we hear what they have to say."

We know that they are going to implicate 2 people (see above). Now is a supposed ban from online poker justice enough? Surely hacking into a bank system and stealing 1/2  million dollars is a crime just as this is. These people need to be taken on.

I couldn't agree more, RichardHurtz.  As we say in Texas, "We hang your type 'round here."  F***ers stole millions.

Too bad they can't put them in a prison like 'Sona' from Prison Break...how awesome would that be to see these two faries get tossed in there.  I bet there would be some big bucks put on how long they last before their bodies get brought out and buried...

What a perfectly ineffectual, illiterate, impotent, and unenforcible petition this is. Where do I sign?

You are  fool if you do in my opinion. I would say similar things have been
going on, and still are going on at other sites. The only differnce is AP
got caught.

Human beings by there very nature are greedy b*stards and ultimately
poker sites are run by human beings. The rake won't be enough for many sites
in my opinion, they will want more. But disregarding the site actively being involved
in cheating, we don't even have to go there, you have to consider the everyday
backroom boys who look after the system, they are not making a fortune,
just a basic wage, the only thing stopping those people cheating is whether
they can do it and get away with it.

In the early days of a site, and basically poker is a new industry, people would
not know each other very well, but over time relationships will form which which
will allow cheating to take place virtually undetectably.

Oh and by the way I notice that Absolute Poker is up and runninig as per normal
just lie

The 'dumb' security man will get  friendly with the geeky techs, then the whole
system is open to abuse. It is bound to happen, and every crook in Chrisendom
will be attracted to the industry. It is not like working in a bank where a customer
would notice if money had been taken out of his account, the money will go because
the player was 'unlucky'.

I know people will knock me for saying this, a lot of people have vested interests
in this huge cash industry, but I am only saying what a lot of other people already
thinking, and most poker players are smart anyway.

By the way I believe Absolute Poker also own Ultimate Bet, where I played not so
long ago, was great at the start went fron $50 to $350 with ease, then it all changed
downhill all the way. I cash out with $100 left. (not going back their I thought!!).
They gave me a free $5 to tempt me back too, which I lost in no time as expected
and as I had planned left immediately.

The writing is on the wall for the poker industry I am afraid. The only way you can be
sure it is not rigged is if you are winning and I doubt there are too many players
winning these days *without* cheating. Although I am sure some of you will beg to
differ.

I only play freefolls and microstakes these days, all my early profits have all but
dwindled away. I used to make a regular amount every month, then suddenly
it changed, a step change, it was clear to me that a new 'aspect' had entered
the game

I notice Absolute Poker is up and running as per normal, they obviously
take the matter very seriously ;O)

I have one resolution and since I have never called anyone out before I am calling out two people.

Scott Tom vs. JJ Prodigy heads up in a controlled setting.

I made a post that long last night. I got responses asking for cliff notes. Some retard took one sentence out of context and ran with it and then my post  got deleted. I usually play every weekend on Pstars. Not this weekend though.

If you feel like reading a semi long post agreeing with what you said. Check out mine.

Speculation.

How to make the responsible parties pay is exactly the issue here.

If this happened in Vegas, the casino would have to make reparations and could lose it's gaming license.  The individuals responsible would go to prison (or get probation :) ), but would no doubt face the criminal justice system.

If this happened at Party Poker, I dare say that it and it's employees and agents would be held accountable as I understand they operate under British law.

But this is not those situations.  It is much more murky than that.  It is a quagmire of international law and jurisdictional issues.

My guess is that attempted reparations by AP will be essentially voluntary in an effort to regain player trust.

But what if the reparations are not satisfactory to the players?  What is their recourse?

Indeed, a punishment must be enforced but this ban is equivalent to a slap on the wrist.  Afterall, wasn't JJPRODIGY banned from online poker?  I think we all know how well that has worked.
