AP to Admit System Was Compromised

PocketFives just received a phone call from Absolute Poker confirming the suspicions of the online poker community over the past month.  While we need to be vague in this post to respect their wishes, we can say that their systems were compromised, and that they are prepared to provide the details in a statement coming shortly.

Part of the statement will include a plan to refund players affected by this compromise.

We are extremely relieved to hear this outcome, as our most important goal in all this is to see justice given to those who were cheated in this process.  Pocketfives is extremely proud to have played a part in the process of uncovering the impropriety that has occurred. We would of course like to thank all the other parties who played a key role in this process—specifically the folks that have been posting here and at twoplustwo.com.

This is great news for everyone.  Keep your eyes out for the statement.

Extremely Relieved,

--Adam

'Cause when your girlfriend accuses you of cheating, man law states you must always DENY till the end... or until you have hard evidence in your face that is undeniable... LOL, and even then you still might go down in flames denying.

That's what AP was going to try to do.

IMHO they knew it all along and have only caved because all the boards make it clear the players weren't buying their BS. I will give them about that much >< credit for coming clean but that is it. They knew it and tried to sweep it under the rug.

Agreed. I would not trust them one bit after all the deciet and I would also boycott Ultimate Bet. Especially since I've read about all the problems people have had cashing out and getting support to help them with anything. Come on people vote with your dollar and send these companies into bankruptcy!

I just don't understand what kind of statement they are going to release.  There is no way a full independent audit was already completed by gaming associates in just one day. Didn't they just announce the audit yesterday?  I feel like we are going to get some bogus statement and everything is going to be swept under a rug.

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

BTW....Great work everyone!!!

Why are we yelling?!?!

Oh wait, nm.

I'm very curious to see AP's statement and I'm sure whoever the fuck runs that company is sitting around a table with a bunch of lawyers right now, trying to get the wording just right.

As scary as this is to online poker, it is very relieving to see a community come together and stand up when something was obviously wrong.  I tip my hat to Nat, Waco, CrazyMarco and whoever else, even on 4, who had anything to do with bringing this to light and helping restore integrity to the online game.

you are 100% right, but that's still better than not admitting it
