Dan,

Clearly I would not sign a deal unless I felt the problem was being addressed appropriately.

You must have some substantial reason other than the money on why you believe signing with a site that was conducive to cheating is a good move. Im sure youve thought about this many times before u inked, but if they screw up in any manner whatsoever, youre certainly going to be associated in some degree with w/e mishaps occur and it will look very bad for your other ventures.

I'd never put a dime on that site or AP. bah @ trusting an online site that intentionally tried to coverup cheating....gotta be kidding. why would you make a deal with the devil when youve been known as a saint? You obv know something we dont know? lee jones is taking over imo lol jk

Nevertheless, good luck!

Hey All, I have always enjoyed playing at UltimateBet.  The interface and the structure are 2nd to none.  It is my belief that management is committed to doing the right things on a going forward basis.  Thus, I have decided to support them.  I will do all I can to ensure the players really like the improved UB.

Oh no.......obv paying a shitload of cash....the thing some of use (not all obv) forget is that if the superuser had been smart..we could of never caught him/them/whatever...there easily could be someone sup's beating the game but keeping it under control...

This sounds almost exactly like annie duke's post  .."management if committed" and "moving in the right direction"...

Wonderful..it's great they finally acknowledge the problem after amazingly, somehow, some online players were able to track it down with there amazing skillz

Not a hater..but this is just sad....

im sure its a nice deal for bax and not one person complaining here wouldve turned it down. kudos to ub for going the route of signing a pro with a clean rep. this tells me ub is committed to doing things right. they are moving ahead with a real effort at making things right. the past is past and i fully beleive they will come forward with all that they can after the investigation is complete. hell ub is probably the safest site of all right now. lol oh yeah congrats bax.

Im am VERY proud that Bax has joined in and will help with his expert advice on what UB needs to be a better site. I have know Cliff for a a few years now and could not think of a better person that should have a voice. We are all poker players like yourself and want what is best for all of us as players. I just hope this stays fun for him and he enjoys this. Thats why we all play poker because of the fun we have doing so.

I also believe the management is committed to doing the right things on a going forward basis, but that's not enough.  What about doing the right things on a retroactive basis?  A lot of players were screwed out of a lot of money by the superuser scandal and UB has done nothing but try to sweep it under the rug.  I play on UB because I make more money there than I do anywhere else, but a lot of people don't and never will unless UB's new and improved management does something about it.  Anyway, congrats on the deal.

This actually isn't really true...  They're coming out with a statement this week to explain what they've been doing to deal with this, how they'll be refunding the money, and what measures they've taken to improve security on their site.  There's hardly any way for anyone to have known this, of course, but it's already been admitted publicly that this happened, and that they were in the process of figuring out how to refund the money.

This is not to say that I agree with the way they've handled all of this from a public relations standpoint--but they definitely haven't swept it under the rug.  They're 100% guilty of taking way longer than they should have to resolve it, though, but I do have faith that the resolution will be thorough and satisfactory.

Most importantly, the people running that site now inherited these horrific issues.  They've taken the steps necessary to move past them, and in doing so they've recognized that a large number of their former players will never return to their sites simply out of protest.  Despite that, they've got their eye on the future, and I think this is pretty clear with this latest signing...
