Look, Im pretty anti-UB at this point, but...Bax deserves a sponsorship deal, he has most certainly earned it. I dont blame him for taking this one, whatever he thinks of UB itself...I blame Stars and FTP for giving sponsorships to Boris Becker, Bruce Buffer and the like and not to real pros who have worked hard to earn it. If this is how Bax has to get his, then so be it.

This is so cool. If you look at all sites and there pros, you wonder where is bax what is going on here. And does anyone really understand what a fuck is wrong with pokerstars sellecting there pros. Team pokerstars is the biggest joke in poker imo. Isabelle Mercier, Tom Mcevoy,John Duthie, Vanessa Rousso, Victor Ramdin, Humberto fucking shark Brenes, Bill Chen, Katja Thater,Rain Khan, Raymond Rahme, Tuan Lam Victoria Coren If i was in charge on pokerstars i would give these players 20 sec notice and kick them out, just such a joke biggest site in the world has these players on there team. Anyway Bax is a fucking online legend and congrats baxy well done.

PS. iam just little pissed these days as iam quiting smoking haha.

Who cares who the pros on any site are? I don't play mainly on pokerstars because of their "pros". I play there because they have the best online pokersite that is the most trust worthy with the best support.

I wouldn't hold it against anyone for signing a deal with UB, I'd take the money to. But I sure as hell aint playing on UB or AP regardless of who they sign.

If for no other reason that Mr Bax is an online icon, who better to speak to the players than the man a high majority of us look up to???

Annie Duke wasn't doing the trick, everytime the poor girl came in here she got plastered by the players and it sure as shit was not her fault, she wasn't the superuser.

Mr Bax is a very smart pickup by UB in every sense of the word, he has a ton of respect from us, maturity (alot more than the poker brat), he has a training site many many many players go to, he is experienced as hell in what he and us as players would like to see moneywise and structurewise for tourneys.

and I won't assume, but I am sure some kind of training discount can/will be offered from the mr bax  to sign up to UB or to resign with ub to catch some sort of monthly discount on the training.

Johnny gets what every poker player aspires to ( an online pro site contract) and UB gets EXACTLY what they need to make thier site better and more respectible.

 IMO anyways

 GL Mr Bax :)

I can 100% guarantee you that Cliff would not have signed unless he felt that moving forward the new UB management was committed towards restoring integrity and faith in the site.

As such, I can think of no better person to have personal involvement in the site and to represent a site than Bax.

Another example of how UB is making great strides to be a top tier poker site again.  They currently have one of the fastest cashout methods via mail or courier check and I'm not sure why I play FTP any more since it takes a month to get my money.  Nice score UB and congrats to Johnny Bax.  Long overdue.

I wonder if he would have the same attitude if he was directly affected by the super user scandal

  • Its like Michael Jordan going to the Wizards.
  • Its like Ricky Carmichael signing with suzuki.
  • Its like Kurt Angle signing with TNA
  • Its like Larry Brown coaching the Knicks...ok not really but u get the picture
  • Jerry West....nuff said

From a site that was possibly facing extinction, they get possibly the one guy in the entire community to sign his name on them that would make a huge impact for survival.  People say that pokerstars pros arent the reason they play at pokerstars and i believe that to be true. I mean im pretty sure alot of people DONT play on UB because of annie duke lolroflcopter... But this will be a reason why people will give UB another shot.  You will play there because Bax has signed on.  Alot of core players will consider it to be all they need to get back on the UB train.  To get someone like bax to sign with you must have cost alot of dough.  but i dont see any other pro they could have got to make such a huge impact.  This is pretty shocking...I wouldnt be suprised if they made him part owner...

congrats

Everyone keeps talking about "management" like this solves the problem. Scott Tom still owns the fucking site and I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!!!
