GP, First, let me say, I enjoy watching you play. There is
no doubt that you are a very good poker player. As a matter of
fact, it's probably not a stretch to say, at this point in time, you
are one of the best 21 y.o. poker players on the planet. I know
that someone that has a mind like yours would be successful in many
other walks of life. You are a natural fit for the finance
industry, but DO NOT make the mistake of going into the wrong field of
finance. I don't remember if I read correctly, but I think I read
somewhere that you were doing an internship in NY. Are you doing
the internship with a Financial Services firm? I will elaborate
more on the avenues you should avoid if you are thinking about the
financial industry.
Nonetheless, if you do choose the finance industry, you might get a crack at this guy (paragraph 9) ;-)

Stevie Cohen....WOW! GP, there's some good advice. Get to know that guy! I have my undergrad and MBA in Finance and CFA, love my field, but also love poker and have had success on both sides. The simple answer is: If you have a passion for a field of work, than that's where you belong and it doesn't mean you can't find a good balance between both a finance career and poker.
I've been struggling w/ that for some time and now I threw a baby into the mix so its a bit more complicated.
Poker + Finance Career = no problem to find balance
Poker + Finance Career + Wife + Baby = GOOD LUCK
Just started watching you play and have definitely benefited from your posts. Would be happy to help w/ any career questions you may have. What area of finance are you intersted in?

i didn't check that link out yet... but i'm very familiar with steve cohen....i'm in that industry now... guys like him/soros/buffet/lampert are somewhat idols to me... i'll post a bit more about what i am doing now but i have to get to work... ugh
