IMO....the company you represent needs to start making Smart decisions.
While the BPO is going on Bodog looks like they decided to Cancel the
$55  10k all week.  As I see it, the site has more traffic because of the BPO
and that tourney would easly fill even with the BPO since "most everyone"
plays multiple tourneys at the same time. To me bodog is missing out on a
smart business decision to capture as much traffic as possible through-out the BPO
series.

So with this in mind ( as thier official spokesperson you are ) during the next BPO
keep that tourney alive.

Also.......I petition for a $20 rebuy 4-5k gaur. that starts sometime around the
other 2 rebuys ( the 3k $12 re  and the 2k  $10 re )  or even an hour after them just pryor the the $55 10k ( since this seems like the time you have the most traffic). This tourney use to be a favorite for most of the regs ( the 20re 5k ) but was usually to late at night to always make the gaur.

With all due respect.......I really dont feel that the site listens much to there long time players ( not looking to bash here). Give this $20 rebuy a chance because I "gaurantee" that it will fill. Just look at all the other sites that have a $20 rebuy.
They always CRUSH the gaurantees!

Edit: a $20 rebuy is an important tourney when a player is trying to make a jump from Low stakes to Mid stakes. It is paramount to the exsistence of all players trying to establish a bank roll.

OK...lets break this down. If the $20 with rebuys is scheduled between the 3k $12 re and the $55 10k It should get at least 100+ players.

100 x $20 = 2000  entered
50  x $20 = 1000  Minimum rebuys
50  x $20 = 1000  Minimum add ons

More easy math....this is yesterdays $12 rebuy   3k  figures   11/4/09

Tourney ID: 226166 Buy-in: $12+1 Players: 97
Game Type: NL Hold'em+Rebuys Rebuys: 187 Add-ons: 0
Start Time: 11/4/2009 - 18:30 Prize Pool: $3,408

Looks like it would be very easy to hit a 4k Gaurantee
as a $20 + rebuys   IMO

Ok, to prove I am more than an "etc." I'll make a helpful post.

Bodog doesn't have to change all these garantees back to what they were 1.5/2/3 years ago overnight. They just need to be vigilant when it comes to monitoring and adjusting garantees. I can't imagine that changing the garantees takes a lot of wor, it's likely not much more than adjusting the number in a field of code.

All that needs to happen is this:

At the end of each day, take a look at the tourneys with garantees and see what the turnouts were like. If the garantee was met and exceeded, raise the gaurantee for that event on the same day the following week. Example: A $10 event with a $3k gaurentee on gets 330 players on Tuesday. So next Tuesday, make it a $3.5k gaurenteed. Next Tuesday it gets 340 players.

This can apply to non-gaurentees as well. Example: A $10 non gaurentee gets 45 players on Tuesday, next week, make it a $500 gaurentee.

Here's an example of what not to do: A $10 $10k on Sunday gets 650 players. Leave this a $10k for 768156 weeks, then slash it to a $5k that gets 550 players, and make no further adjustments.

My point here is that they don't have to lose a pile of money on garentees if they make small, regular adjustments. And by starting with adjustments to the lowest buyins first (the ones that get the fish on the site :) ) the can further minimize their exposure.

And, obv, syncing breaks, removing table caps, and extending late registration to match industry standards is only going to help meet and exceed gaurentees in both the short and long run.

One final note. I've talked with Bodog representatives many times for many hours, and I keep hearing a recurring theme: "We appreciate our regular customers and as a way of rewarding them we offer added value through special events, like the added money to the BPO events for example, and through reward programs such as the weekly/monthly/yearly TLBs". While this may be true, the best possible thing Bodog can do to reward their regular players is to bring us more fish. And the best way to do that, imho, is to make small, regular adjustments to the garantees, starting with the smallest buyins and working your way up.

TBH I've came very close to taking my roll off of bodog in recent weeks, as cake and ub/ap are stepping up and bodog has nothing to show.  A $20r would definitely be nice and a raise in some of the guars also. Bodog needs to stop worrying about the money so much and grow a bigger customer base, it really doesn't take long if they start with getting a better tourney schedule and bigger guars imo.

I agree with this. I just deposited today at UB, something I thought I would never EVER do. I love Bodog but I have been very unhappy with it lately.

Can I get a BRAVO?

Great points.... and so honest IMO.........

Dear Bodog:

The people that have been there for at least 3+ years have asked a few simple Questions.     We dont think we run this place......yet we believe that you are simply missing opportunitys in one of your outer Businesses. A opportunity exists for a more solid Gaurantee Tourney Structure.......

With all due respect to those that are employed to run the Poker room......
Please try to add at least the 4k Gaurantee   $20 rebuy as another "Online Option".
We do believe it might work to grow a certain aspect you might be missing.

As always Bodog Becky.......Thanks for Listening

Lets be serious here.....there have been numerous posts about improvements to the site. Jesterwords, Nate and a handful of others. Like idiots we all gave our input, post after post, page after page. NOTHING is ever done in a timely matter or at all. I am sure we would like to see the site return to at least giving a damn. They have been stubborn and slow to make any significant changes and simply can not compete in the way they run things in the poker environment. They are losing customers as we speak and I just have to think they do not give a FUCK! I hate seeing it because as many of you I have enjoyed playing there when it was at least competitive. This Becky lady and the powers to be just suck serious ass! Cmon....how hard can it be? There were so many posts with some great ideas in Jesterwords post that I think was a year ago now that still fall on deaf ears. gg Bodog.

Peace

it's sad that i have to play on a site that is known for cheating players (UB/AP) because the site that i want to play on, wont give me a decent midstakes tournament schedule(i dont deal with 1k+ person fields)...poker is how i make my living, and UB just has the best midstakes schedule...bodog used to...UB/AP is the new bodog, and everyone knows it...all the old bodog regulars are now there...just waiting for CINBAD3 to join UB :)

edit: oh yeah, pick6man obv speaks the truth.

Its been like watching my sick grandmother die slowly.  The time, energy, and effort I put into trying to help Bodog was all wasted over the years.

I closed my account on Bodog for good.  Dirty Uncle Jester has finally buried Bodog.

GL to all who still play there.

+1
also i would not even know the BPO was going on right now if it wasn't for the kickoff event on sunday instead of the 100k.  WTF IS THAT? no advertisements for your 'big' yearly tourney series?? (or if they did advertise they did a turrrrrrrible job) wp wp.
gg bodog.

Very truthful post on how most oldtime regs feel including myself.
I suppose I am being kinda selfish in asking Bodog Becky for at least
a $20 rebuy 4-5k gaurantee. I believe I showed the #'s would easly
be met. I dont know if they will listen at this point or not. But being a pryor business owner for years I learned successfully to "never give up".
