By BeL0WaB0Ve on 02-13-2006 12:48 AM

IF THE GUY WANTS TO PLAY 2 PARTY ACCOUNTS IN A 3500 PERSON TOURNAMENT, THEN SO BE IT. I DONT CARE IF HE HAD 2 COMPUTERS, CONGRATS JJ. AND FOR THE BLIND PUBLIC, ALOT OF PEOPLE DO THIS, WHO CARES, NICE WIN

thanks for stating your opinion, but the public deserves to hear about this and weigh whether or not it's okay on their own merits. this shouldn't be quieted down by any means, nor does it mean we should throw him to the gallows.

Who cares?  How about people that have a code of , oh I don't know...ethics?  Oh well.

i'm going to be very blunt.

fuck you.

you're ruining online poker with your unbelievably stupid attitude.

if we just turn our head and say "oh it's ok to play multiple accounts" then the integrity we already had very little of is all gone.

seriously, fuck you and everyone who plays on multiple accounts and thinks is kosher.

if you think it's is a pointless issue and shouldn't be pursued anymore, then you're wrong. this is the most important issue to online poker right now.

and if this is true and JJ is entering multiple accounts into single tournaments, then i have lost all respect for him and hope he goes broke.

i think most of the top players play multiple accounts, the only real problem arises if they are at same table at some point, otherwise really not a big deal in my mind. if they are plying at ring games with 2 accounts now that is a problem, then that is cheating. my thought on the duel tourney entry is that they play so aggressive early that they want 2 chances to get past the first wave. because they are good players they feel positive about chances of making money. now with stars paying 3 X entry for 10% player they can play 3 different accounts and only need to be itm in 1 top break even. the big reason i do not play ring games is for the pure fact that there is soo much cheating on them, think about it half the people playing in the big games are people who regularly im eachother. cheating and circumventing  the rules is all over internet poker/

str8flush like I said I agree with below that it isnt a big deal, but what is the difference between ring games and tournies? I dont think it matters either way. In ring games it almost like multitabling accept yea if ur at the same table its 1 less player to worry about. I dont think its wrong either way!

ring games become an issue becaue at a table of nine having twice the amount of knowledge by having two sets of hole cards is much bigger than having 2 people in a tournament field of 3500. If youre sitting at a table of 9 youve got like 22% of the seats at the table occupied. That obviouslly makes a much bigger deal. Can someone point me in the direction of the link/ thread that started this debate. please

iownsngs u dont seem to understand and must be retarded to not think its wrong

Re(1): EASY ON JJ PLEASE In reply to

the difference in the ring game is simple both accts at same table, therefore raising the other hands the same as coercion, anytime you sit at 1 table playing with 2 accounts it would be cheating , thats the big problems with multi accts, the big problem is once you get away with it it is hard NOT to cheat and steal from the honest players.lets say i had myself to seats at your table and you in between my accounts, i get monster hand with one and you get a hand your calling , but i am raising myself with both accountsyou are trapped with 2nd best calling my 4 bets. the difference with the multi tourney is the odds of being at same table rare with 3500 people.

he's the best player i know and he doesnt need 2 accounts to win.

if he says its his grandma's account, thats good enough for me.

I will believe his explanation as true, since to this date I have read/heard nothing but glorious praises for the guy.  With that said, I believe it was ok for him to do what he did, but I do not believe in people playing on multiple accounts on their own.  Though taking "over" the play at 100k does come to the very edge IMO, I can give JJ the benefit of the doubt.  Grats on a commendable win, and for god's sakes, buy your Grandma something VERY nice.  GL.  Hope the flames and haters don't stop you from posting and being a cool person/player.  Hopefully i'll have the opportunity to see you at a FT.  GG JJ
