FTOPS M.E. Never fold KK pre???

This hand is late in the FTOPS ME.  The BB had been playing very tight.  I had not seen many hands at showdown with the UTG raiser so didnt have an exact read on him and certainly couldnt yet give him credit for being a donk.  To boot, my end game had been a bit lacking in that I had made some mistakes underestimating how tight people play late in these tournies:

Tiltin didnt give much thought at all to shoving.  I didnt have any reason to think he was a donk and would over-shove, essentially for his tourney, in the face of two players raising his utg raise with QQ or JJ....especially that deep with good stacks.  Apparently I was wrong, but against a player of solid caliber, I think its ok.  He had only 64k in the pot at that point.  He just went off...

I think given the information both players made very poor shoves... but with that said I still never fold here.

I snap call over shove get it in as fast as I can here.  If they have AA I throw my computer on my tile and buy a new one in the morning with what I just made in this tourney and wasted like 9 horus lol.

But yea I never fold here.

Hellmuthaments! mucks the KK and then takes it down, obv this was a +EV fold for you even if you seen their cards, wp.

Winning the tourney after missing massive chip equity on a bad fold = ++++EV

Nice job.

...just saw this post as I was reading your article.  Congrats btw.  Well you had 3bet me 3 hands in a row when I opened, and I had been raise/folding a decent ammount.

I made my UTG raise and I had already decided I was rollin with you unless action just got crazy.  You 3 bet me, which I knew you were going to also.  When the shortish stack shoved, I figured I would isolate him as he probably thought 99 was okay there givin the fact I was opening a lot of pots and you were 3betting a high percentage pre.  The play may not have been optimal I guess but to call me a donk is hillariously obserd.  You played very well so congrats.

I will say, the first hand of the FT was grossly missplayed by me for sure, and it still haunts me.  At any rate gg, you played very well.

no dis intended at all!  you played well.  I thought the shove was a bad play, only in that with your ep open and two raises behind do you really want to play for your whole tourney in a spot where you could easily be dominated.  I do apologize for the way I worded it.  Most likely it was a result of me being mad for making the wrong laydown.  So I am sorry. Obviously we all make mistakes all the time.  'ppreciate the congrats! gl

If you had won that hand, you would have been over confident, played differently, and probably not won.

Good play.
