FTP Pro's WTF - what is the story.......

what's up with the FTP tourney pro's.. It looks like they just pick those people out of the street and give them a red name...

I see it over and over again, they play so so bad and make so many mistakes whereas they are so called 'pro's'..

I know whe will profit from their mistakes... maybe there is the reason FTP makes them pro's.. :P

OK, make it easy.  Just list the 5% that you think are indeed better than you, Frank.

they're not even all poker players.  ie Jonathon Wendel aka Fatal1ty is pro video gamer that obv got a deal because of who he is outside of poker and because he's well known in the demographic (young males) that likes online poker the most.

and yes most of them suck.  95% sounds about right

this. it doesn't matter what the tournament is. $1, $100, rebuy, omaha, razz. If there's a red pro in it, I can win a t-shirt.... so yeah, you gotta be in it to win it

I am prob better than 95% of the ftp and stars pros. This doesn't mean I think I deserve it over them. They don't choose people randomly, as others have said the people they choose are people they think are good for promoting their site. If someone sucks at poker but can bring new fish onto the site, then why should I complain? Most the pros are hella cool anyway. To make a thread calling them out though seems absurd. They help make this game more profitable by getting more people to play.

LOL Run good much?

Yeah, he's awful. Only runs good and gets lucky to the tune of $10M+ over the course of one year w/ online + live earnings. He must be terrible to consistently beat nosebleed cash against Antonius, Benyamine, Ivey, and the like.

LoL, back to the original topic of the post though. I do agree that some pros are better for marketing, but all of them have made a significant impact on poker in one way or another.

Of course, Greg Mueller did win his own event, which must be a sick brag to all other pros.
