So I just got a letter from my bank stating they will no longer be accepting my online gambling site checks as of December 1st.  Everyone said nothing would change, any thoughts on whether there is any way to continue playing online in the US?

Cash a check at somewhere other than a bank and then put the cash in your account?

I don't see how anyone can see this other than extremely bad news.

The fact that they are sending out letters like this at all is a HORRIBLE sign.

I got a similar notice in August.  Not sure why people don't see this as a problem. Maybe someone who actually knows something can shed some light on this.

To just say, "Use wire transfer" is useless. A wire transfer is a deposit into my account is, according to my bank, unacceptable.  If you have something to offer, explain it and provide a factual basis, not merely your baseless opinion.

how is the bank gonna know exactly where the check comes from?

Are you serious?

They don't know because they are stupid.

How does the US attorney know which processors to go after?

It's not a fucking secret.

Relax Willy, the PPA will save us by lobbying for us all to be taxed a bunch and to establish "regulated" online gambling so we no longer fall prey to Full Tilt and Pokerstars--because obv they're taking advantage of us somehow.

It's really just a matter of how much money the govt feels they can take out of the online gaming business and whether they feel they can establish effective mechanisms to ensure that no one can circumvent the taxes. Govt is not getting their cut and they will sooner stamp out the entire industry than allow willing adults to voluntary wager their own money online. F the govt.

HAHA.  I would rather take my chances with a business that wants my business than our government, which wants as much as it can get.

The irony of this is that while the industry grew rapidly in the early years and there were relatively few problems depositing and cashing out, the trouble started once the feds decided for us, that online poker is bad.  Now, since online poker is "bad", we can only play, if they get paid off.  Standard pattern for government.  Prohibit, regulate, take the money.

F the government.
